I really really wanted to like this book. And there were moments I really liked. I loved their relationship when they got together and I loved the male main character but this was marketed as a dark stalker romance and it was not dark. This man was respectful. Way too respectful to be a stalker romance in my opinion.
I love the friendship between the guys but there was no backstory about how they became friends. Small drops here or there but I needed a full story on why they were that way and how they became friends. Also Liv was annoying. One second she hated him then they were too in love. I needed a slower transition.

dark
tense
fast-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? A mix
- Strong character development? It's complicated
- Loveable characters? Yes
- Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

This was my first book by Nikki Summers so the start with all the characters from other series was slightly confusing but honestly not bad and enough that I'll probably read the other connected series.
I ate this book up, quick and easy read with suspense and spice.

This book has been in my TBR for a while. Turns out I even started it but I must have been in a slump because I never finished it… until today!

I read this book after I saw a quote on tiktok about the MMC dog protecting the FMC when he was being harsh with her. I feel for the marketing strategy….
Because, the dog scene was the only thing I liked about the book.
In the first 20% of the book, I was completely lost. It was weird as hell, so many characters. I should DNF it right way. I push through, because of the dog scene, and I should have known better.
I don’t know what to tell you, I don’t know how to review this book… I don’t want to be mean. The only thing useful I have to tell you is: if you have this book on your TBR, read the Rebels of Sandland series first, because there are a lot of connecting characters for what I gather, and falling in the middle of this world is confusing.
I didn’t like the main characters. I didn’t enjoy the story. There is no real development of the story or the characters… just no.
This is a dark stalker romance, with masked me, though… so if that’s your thing, keep that in mind.
Happy Readings

If it were real life, I would be freaked out, but since it's a book, I fell in love with Adam and the fact that he tries to keep Olivia out of trouble and wants what's best for her. He is supposed to be the villian, but he ends up being the hero in the shadows and I loved him for that! I also LOVED the steam once Adam and Olivia got to the naughty part of the relationship!

Absolutely adored Olivia and Adam !
I started this book not sure if I would even be finishing it but I decided to give it a chance . I am so glad I did. It definitely picks up as you keep reading and their love story is angsty, hot, passionate and in the end heart warming . When you talk about soul mates , they pretty much are talking about Adam and Olivia. Adding this book to my reread pile .
