Adorable 2019 Geisel award winner. Fox does not want to be fox, he wants to be tiger. Fox has a great idea! He gets some paint and dresses up as tiger. This starts a chain reaction, after seeing Fox as Tiger, his friends decide to dress up too, but then the rain comes and they all turn back into themselves. Can Fox learn to be happy with who he really is... Sweet beginning reader that champions imagination, friendship and most importantly seeing the best in yourself. Recommended for pre-K-2nd grade.

This was a super cute book for my beginner reader! We both giggled while he read it. I love that it taught dressing up as someone else is fun, but it's also great to be yourself.

I like the underlying theme of this book— that it’s ok to play pretend and dream. You’re not confined to what society says you are. However, especially for littles, it’s important to understand the difference in things you’re “putting on” for pretend and things you’re putting on for the world.

After reading a book on tigers, Fox thinks tigers are great. So much so that he wants to be one. His friends' Turtle and Rabbit get in on the fun until the rain washes all of their make-believe away. Fox is bummed until Squirrel finds Fox and tells him that Squirrel thinks fox is great!! A fun beginning reader.

Really enjoyed this easy reader.

Fox thinks tigers are the best and paints strips on himself. Some friends see what he has done and follow suit. Turtle becomes a race car and rabbit becomes a robot. The rain sends Fox's friends home, but Fox is sad, until squirrel comes and by and says "Foxes are the best.!

Sly, wonderful humor. The kind of book that'll leave kids with all kinds of questions about themselves, where they fit in the world, and how imagination works.
