Super cute! Fox and his friends, Turtle and Rabbit decide they want to be someone else. It's fun finding out if they will stay that way. This would be great to read aloud or for your youngling to read to you. I will definitely be recommending it to patrons at our branch.

Fox wants to be a tiger. Turtle wants to be a racecar. Rabbit wants to be a robot. After the rain, they all go back to being themselves. It's great to play, but it's also great to be just you.

Sweet story about how playing pretend is fun, but you yourself are wonderful & you never know who looks up to you. The illustrations are so fun, too. 2019 Geisel award winner.

Fox the Tiger follows the theme that many picture books embrace: imagination and self acceptance, with the unique audience of new readers and adorable illustrations. The little book is delightful because it balances the desire to be someone you are not with the celebration of imagination and play, with perspective allowing for self acceptance and love. The sentences are very short and accessible, but masterfully written in rhythm and cleverness; Along with these qualities, it introduces young kids to their sense of humor and plays on words- a turtle becoming a race car is silly, and a rabbit becoming a robot is imaginative but close in labels. The illustrations strike me for an Easy Reader as they definitely resemble a picture book in their attention to detail and layout.
