4 stars!
This was a little cheesy/cringey at times, but it was mostly very cute! I'm not a big holiday romance girl, but I've read this author's work before and I am trying to find some holiday romances that I like, so I thought I would give this a try. Right away, the premise seemed very original, and I liked that it didn't seem so removed from reality that it didn't make sense. I related to Ivy and her struggle being without a family, so the found family aspect of the story was really sweet. I wasn't super crazy about Teddy's nickname for Ivy, and he says sweetheart WAY too much, but I really liked them together, and they had the perfect ending, in my opinion. Overall, it was a perfect little romance for the season!

"For everyone who's ever believed in the magic of Christmas... or wanted their hallmark movies to be a little spicier."

Jennifer Chipman definitely delivered her dedication in this feel good, holiday romance! This book has me wanting to make SANTA my book boyfriend! LOL... well, actually more so his son Teddy, but he'll inherit the mantle one day, so I'd say that counts.

Our FMC, Ivy Winters, lost her parents at a young age and was in the foster system during her formative years when the magic of Christmas should have been showered on her. Instead, she never truly celebrated Christmas traditions, such as decorating a tree, making Christmas cookies, building gingerbread houses, hanging stockings, or exchanging gifts.  To fill the Santa sized hole in her belly (see what I did there?) she began working at Santa's Christmas Land, an amusement park in Florida where Christmas is celebrated 365 days a year!  She's now the "head elf" or manager of the park.

I immediately related with Ivy, as she is introduced to us...
"I'd worked my way up to being manager... though sometimes, it felt like it was hard for people to take me seriously, given that I was a whopping 5 foot 2 inches (that's me) and wear a green velvet dress everyday (not me, but I love green!) and had a management degree from the University of Central Florida. "

Enter Theodore Clausen (Teddy CLAUSE).  He's climbed the ladder within his family's business, which includes Santa's Christmas Land, and has arrived to check out the park and develop proposals for future developments.  Upon meeting Ivy, he senses some... magic? and becomes enamored.  After discovering Ivy has never truly enjoyed the magic of Christmas herself, he invites her to come home with him for the holidays... to the NORTH POLE!

"I'm not your boss, Ivy, " he said, furrowing his brow. Teddy stared at my bare legs, and his jaw tightened before he looked away. "It's important to me you know that."

Magic abounds, Ivy finds out she's the daughter of a run away elf, and that Teddy is the REAL SANTA'S son! The story progresses with many sweet moments, is relatively angst free (it's truly a feel good story) AND includes some of my favorite tropes:
one bed, secret identities, fated mates, cinnamon roll MMC, a Christmas to-do bucket list, found family.

While it is a feel good story, I found it very entertaining, funny, and not too sappy.

"Oh. God. there was only one bed? I groaned. 'You've got to be kidding me.'  What sore of H a l l mark movie did I wake up in the middle of?"

Teddy: "Even if my dad was the reason I brought you here?"
Ivy: "You mean when you knocked me out, k!d n a p p e d me, and effectively trapped me in the North Pole with you and only one bed?"

SPICE: 3-3.5 chili peppers.
This is a story I can see myself rereading again and again during the holidays each year.

Loved the idea of this – very Hallmark (i.e. suspend your disbelief & get ready for cheesy with a side of cheese), but 'tis the season, right?! Teddy and Ivy made for a cute couple, and the plot was cute, but I don't feel much more than lukewarm about it.

This is a full length novel, but it's paced/rushed like a novella. If you're not into insta-love, pass on this one. (After knowing him a few days, she agrees to spend 2 weeks with him in his isolated home town, and after knowing her not even a month he
proposes, and she says yes.
Can't get much more insta-love than that.) There was also a LOT of "she's my girl" and "mine" and general possessive language which I usually don't mind, but in this case it was so frequent that it kind of felt like a kid experimenting with swearing for the first time, just throwing it in wherever it could possibly fit.

Overall a cute read if you're in the mood, just didn't totally hit the mark for me.

Não consegui continuar porque cheguei aos 20% e eles já estavam apaixonados, e eu não gosto nada de insta love. E tbm gostava de ter sabido que o ML era filho do pai natal.

Omg, this was such a sweet story. I ate it up!
Ivy and Teddy are just so sweet.

If you love
🎄 He falls fast and hard
❄️ Christmas Bucket Lists
🎄 Fated Mates/ Soul Mates
❄️ Christmas Magic
🎄 Fighting as Flirting
❄️ Only 1 Bed

Then you might give this a go!

“Teddy.” “Mhm?” “Where did you sleep last night?” He did his best to look sheepish. “On the couch. There’s only one bedroom here, you know.” Oh. God. There was only one bed? I groaned. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” What sort of Hallmark movie did I wake up in the middle of?"

Gasp the cover for this is just the cutest thing ever! SO I was excited to dive in- and the premise is just so fun and creative. I mean the title?! The whole synopsis- it seems like The Santa Clause meets a Hallmark movie, but with spice. Sold.

And this story definitely had quite a few cute adorable moments. The interesting fated mate aspect, Santa's son and the unexpected elf- and lots of attraction. At times, though, it felt like a lot of telling vs. showing- more instalust, never quite enemies vibes, more spice driven than emotion connection. Which is just what you want in a fun Christmas novella-y story. So it definitely has the best vibes and cute moments and tons of Christmasy flair. I think I also would have enjoyed the writing style a bit more in the audio format- this would be super fun on audio.
