Not gonna do a star rating, but I finally got around to reading this classic recommended by everyone and their mother to anyone who shows an interest in magic and wicca.
I enjoyed reading about the Wiccan beliefs and how those beliefs translate into observance of the Wiccan religion. Other books I've read went into this less.
But I did not really like the structure of the book, I found it all over the place, in some cases not in depth enough. And then there's points where I just realize that I don't agree with Cunnigham or that I don't want to do things that he proposes one should do.

Curious about Wicca and Wiccan practices, but have no idea where to find a coven or mentor? Not to fret, pet. This beginners' guide walks us through an assortment of practices and rituals, and teaches the reader how to modify and create them on our own.
Directions are easy to understand, there's usually an explanation "we do it this way because," and alleviate any guilt about "doing it wrong." If you only have one book about Wicca, this might be the one.

Curious about Wicca, but don't know much about it. Then this book is for you!!!
This book was my stepping stone into Wicca. This book really helped me along my spiritual path. however if your looking at starting or if your just curious about wicca, this book give you the authours viewpoint. a lot of it is left up to you. but i suggest you read other books on wicca as well as this one.. but i found this one one of the best!

This is very thorough in its descriptions and instructions. As a spiritual humanist, I have some trouble taking it seriously, but I am drawn to the appreciation of nature and commitment to environmentalism. I've long been intrigued by earth-centered religions, and the rituals are not unlike mainstream religious practice, with sacred tools, candles, incense, symbolic clothing, purification routines, and altars. There's a certain grace to the movement involved in drawing circles and casting spells that is very appealing.
