I only watch football because I'm the only girl in a family of 5. What guy does not like football. Right? So, we still root for the Gators, even though we live in Bulldog territory, and we still root for Tim Tebow no matter if he is playing football, baseball or just home relaxing in his flip-flops. So when I saw the chance to promote his book I took it.
Even when it seemed as if several of Tim's friends were being cut from the team he kept hanging in there. The determining call came one Saturday morning when Coach Belichick called to see him in his office that day. Timmie had been cut! Coach Belichick said, "It's not the right fit."
Each day Timmie strives to live by whose he is, a child of God, rather than who he is. So even though it hurt to be cut from the team, several teams, he says, "Identity comes not necessarily from who we are, but whose we are." In his book he reminds us that we are wanted and as Christians we are adopted into God's family.
Tim Tebow is very open and honest about his high's and low's, his good times and bad times. Being cut from the team(s) hurt because he had always dreamed of being an NFL Quarterback. However, he reminds the reader whether we are up or down it's not about what we are doing, but life is about who we belong to. I believe if Tim were not a Christian he would have a much harder time coping with his losses and his gains.
I received a complimentary copy of Shaken from the publishers.

Once again Tim Tebow has written a book that fills my soul with the wisdom of God while being delivered in a way that is relatable. I really enjoyed the way Tim shares his experiences and wisdom with his readers without making it boring or hard to follow. Definitely an easy read and I couldn't put it or my highlighter down. I would recommend this book to others.

I have never been a fan of football, despite living in “Steeler Country” and having a husband who bleeds black and gold. That being said, Tim Tebow was one football player that I took notice of right away. He came onto the scene outspoken about his faith and was taunted and criticized for it at every turn. I was a bit wary at first (as I often am when people state that they are Christians) because fame and the enemy can really destroy their testimony, but Tim stood firm in his beliefs and showed over time that he is a man of integrity who puts Christ above ALL else.
This book talks about his career in football, his rejections, but also the many ways he’s served the Lord. I was very inspired by his story and I can see that God is using him in a great way. The end of the book has an invitation for salvation and I pray that many people will come to Christ through this.
The stories are told in a very interesting way, and it read very quickly. This would make a great gift for teenage boys and men as it talks a lot about sports but also delves into much more.
Tim is a great example of being a light in the darkness and I would highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was a great read and I loved how Tim opens up about things that have been hard for him in his life, but also encourages us that when we have those times, we need to know who we are and rely on God for help.

This book was exactly what I would have pictured a book written by Tim Tebow to be. And there is nothing wrong with that.
I've always been a fan of Tim's, and I like to believe what I've always seen from him. That he is a decent, strong, genuine person with a huge heart, meant for more than just football.
There is nothing earth-shattering or profound in this story, but it's full of simple goodness and tenacity. Tim doesn't try to be something he is not. He never claims to be a martyr, or a victim, or a prophet, and neither is he a saint. He admits to the very human trials he's been through, no matter how little they measure up to what others may endure, and never claims to be above it all.
I thought my difference of religious/spiritual beliefs from the author would make this extremely difficult to read, because obviously his faith is such an important part of his life. But it is the kind of faith that sets out to make the world a better place. Not just conversion and salvation, but dreams achieved and people cared for, true religion according to the Christian bible.
I loved this glimpse into a life so seemingly public, and it unintentionally casts a harsh light on the focus of society, which loves to spotlight the inconsequential above the real and the kind.
