Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity in the Midst of Life's Storms by Tim Tebow

5.0

I only watch football because I'm the only girl in a family of 5. What guy does not like football. Right? So, we still root for the Gators, even though we live in Bulldog territory, and we still root for Tim Tebow no matter if he is playing football, baseball or just home relaxing in his flip-flops. So when I saw the chance to promote his book I took it.
Even when it seemed as if several of Tim's friends were being cut from the team he kept hanging in there. The determining call came one Saturday morning when Coach Belichick called to see him in his office that day. Timmie had been cut! Coach Belichick said, "It's not the right fit."
Each day Timmie strives to live by whose he is, a child of God, rather than who he is. So even though it hurt to be cut from the team, several teams, he says, "Identity comes not necessarily from who we are, but whose we are." In his book he reminds us that we are wanted and as Christians we are adopted into God's family.
Tim Tebow is very open and honest about his high's and low's, his good times and bad times. Being cut from the team(s) hurt because he had always dreamed of being an NFL Quarterback. However, he reminds the reader whether we are up or down it's not about what we are doing, but life is about who we belong to. I believe if Tim were not a Christian he would have a much harder time coping with his losses and his gains.

I received a complimentary copy of Shaken from the publishers.
