Closer to 3.5 stars. The book was sweet and I loved the voice of the main character, Jane. It was a little short and underdeveloped though, and I had flashbacks to a better book - The Time Traveler's Wife - a few times while reading it.
This is one of those uplifting romance books perfect for an occasional read. I enjoyed it, especially its fast-paced nature.
This was a very simple and quick read, but I liked it more than any modern romance I’ve read! This story was very sweet and made me feel deeply for the main characters. Loved!
Jane grows up and falls in love with Michael her childhood invisible friend. Light and cute.
The plot description I read somewhere was better than the book itself. The writing was very poor. I found myself thinking Audrey Niffenegger would have done a much better job with the plot, but then she would have been criticized for writing a book too similar to The Time Traveler's Wife.
Very cute romantic concept, but the narrative plays out in a bout of clichés. A very easy and fast read for anyone who's looking for a bit of fluff to fill the time.
I read this book in one night. Not because I was so invested or considerably interested in the narrative but because I was waiting for the precious gem of entertaining storytelling to begin. Maybe thats a bit harsh; the book was very easy to read, large font, short chapters, easy dialogue. Beyond that the story line was iffy, could have been better, the characters were a bit generic, and the dialogue was too sentimental for my taste. At one point, somewhere between her childhood dates with him and him kind of stalking her across NYC, their relationship reminded me of Lolita. Overall I was disappointed.
