And so ends the saga of the Lightbringer. Overall, I really enjoyed this series. It certainly has some issues. It's a bit cheesy throughout and there are parts that stretch credulity, but it is a solid and entertaining story with characters that you care about. I have a feeling that this final book will be a big disappointment to some people. For me, I could've done without the heavy-handed religious overtones and extreme instances of "deus ex machina" which provided convenient resolutions to some tricky plot points, but I'm not gonna let that ruin my overall enjoyment of the series.

On a side note, just this past Saturday, I was able to meet Brent Weeks at his book signing event in Salt Lake City and I really enjoyed the talk Mr. Weeks gave. Brent seems like a pretty cool and funny guy. He also stayed for over an hour to sign everybody's books. Pretty cool.

An incredible end

I’ve been a big fan since the first book and Brent wrapped it up beautifully. Didn’t close off every avenue but didn’t leave you feeling like you lacked closure.

A reasonable end to a long, full, series. Even with it's huge length, it still felt rushed in some ways.

Words cannot possibly express how amazing this series is. I felt so connected to all the characters and they world that Brent Weeks has created that I cannot believe this isn’t more known as the best fantasy series ever. Kip, Karris, Dazen and the Mighty will make you cry A LOT and laugh a lot and go through all the possible emotions one can feel!

The final installment of the Lightbringer series is fast paced and cutthroat, you dont have much time to consider the implications of events as the next page ties together another thread. Reading a 1000 page book where each chapter ends on a cliffhanger is a little draining. But overall Brent Weeks concluded the story in a satisfying way. There are still some unanswered questions which I was a little upset about but hopefully the world will be visited again in the future.
I specifically liked the way brent weeks writes his characters. They're not simply vessels to progress the plot in a robotic way. They feel real in their actions. While they might not always do the right thing, you understand their motives and it makes you love them even more as you grow with them. Overall the series is a 5/5. But I give this final book a 4/5 simply because I felt a little cheated on some minor points toward the end, and the pacing was just a little to fast. It's written like a thriller except that thrillers are generally one third the length of this book. But I'm happy with where everyone ended up and was happy to just be running around with these characters again.
Amazing series. Highly recommend. Brent Weeks has evolved so much as an author I look forward to whatever he puts out next.
