Two stars really, but honorary star because I love Virgin River so much...
I didn't really like any of the women in this one, and the one complaint I have about Virgin River is that sometimes these books lack a little focus. We had way too much going on in this one for me to be really invested, and I wanted to be. The very best of this book occurred during the births. Both were very wonderful and I sort of feel cheated that I had to read about these other crazy chicks instead of Brie and Paige. I miss those gals.

Author needs to focus on one couple, not 102 of them.
Am I really suppose to believe that Vannie being 2 months postpartum and a widow, wouldn’t be too sleep deprived, busy nursing/pumping and grieving ,but instead going out on dates and replace dead spouse that fast with his best friend and that an attractive single intelligent 35 yr old doctor would need to chase or settle for a widow with a newborn whose hung up on another guy????
Vannis is a royal BIATCH! Paul doesn’t owe her jack!!! His sex life and dating life was none of her business and why he felt the need to explain himself is bull!!! She was married and pregnant, where does she get off passing judgment or have any right to be pissed off at Paul!!!
As if he was suppose to be available for her since her husband died!! The last straw was asking him to walk away from his own kid, and raise her kid only!!
And why is she drinking alcohol,if she is breastfeeding???
She is a selfish spoiled entitled brat. Paul is a tool for putting up with her crap!

Paul Haggerty has been in love with Vanessa Booth since the day he met her but allowed his best friend, Matt Rutledge, make the first move and that was the end. Matt married Vanessa and went off to war and was killed, with Vanessa due to give birth shortly. Paul provided his shoulders and support to her in both of their grief but he doesn't want to move too quickly and take advantage of Vanessa. His slowness on the uptake threatens to have him again standing in someone else's wake.
While this is Paul and Vanessa's story, this book returns us to all we've loved about the series. Old characters return with a vengeance with so many story lines you will struggle to keep up, which is a great thing. Babies are being made and born, new relationships are beginning, new properties are being built and old and new characters return to Virgin River. It was a wonderful immersion in the community of Virgin River and I hated to see the book end.

There was a lot happening in this book. Vanny irritated me with her overly judgmental ways in the beginning after everything they have been through. We see more challenges with some of the main characters in Virgin River. We see new romances forming with some of the previous characters. Can't wait to see what is next in Virgin River.

After spending days following Nuri as he escapes Syria (The Beekeeper of Aleppo), walking the streets of Nazi Germany and sobbing with Leisel Meminger for Hans Hubermann and his accordion (The Book Theif), and then wandering the night streets of Istanbul with Leila, a murdered sex worker (10 Minutes and 38 Seconds in this Strange World), I was in desperate need of a palette cleanser - a little light romance.
That is exactly what the Virgin River series is perfect for - cast with an unbelievably thick forest of tall, sexy, insanely handsome men and the stunningly beautiful, smart women of Virgin River, Carr creates a town we all wish we lived in.
Not tremendously notable in other ways - just steamy tale of beautiful people finding their person to love.

did not like this one at all. vanni is a mean manipulative person, spoiled and selfish and I did not buy her "love" one bit. if it wasn't for the side plots I'd have dumped this one.
