Do you like books with male characters who are fiercely loyal and loving toward their women? If so, then this is the series for you. This book features Paul Haggerty, in love with his best friends wife (best friend passed away). I love the way Robyn Carr brings all the characters from the past books and makes them integral characters in each book. I've grown to really love the people of Virgin River and I look foward to reading more of them.

Paul and vanni's story. Another very strong story. Something I really love about this series is the town and the interconnectedness of all the people therein. I've read about things from Mel's and Jack's past that aren't going to be covered in the novel about them (reading out of order so I'm pretty sure) but we continue to see bits of everyone's story as we move through each couple. It reminds me of Marcia Evanick's Misty Harbor series

Nice parallel stories. The sex wasn't annoying or cloying as it is in many of the sweeter romances. Strong emotional content and connection with the characters - both main and secondary.

Efter att Vanessas man dog och hans bäste vän Paul hjälpte henne vid förlossningen av sonen har hon insett att de vänskapliga känslor hon haft för Paul tidigare har övergått till något annat. Paul har älskat Vanessa ända sedan han såg henne första gången, men när Matt hann före med presentationen har han hållit känslorna gömda. Nu väntar han bara på att Vanessa ska känna sig redo att gå vidare och hoppas att hon då ska kunna tänka sig att se på honom som något mer än en vän.
Vanessas bästa vän Nikki har insett att hon och hennes man har olika inställning till familjebildning och är nu singel igen. När hon är i Virgin River för att umgås med sin vän upptäcks hon av Joe, en av Jacks och Pauls marinkårsvänner, som blir förälskad ögonblickligen. Kan känslan vara besvarad?
Och det är inte bara känslor som hettar till - även vädret är ovanligt varmt och torrt, vilket resulterar i en stor skogsbrand i närheten av den lilla staden och alla som kan hjälper till med släckningen. Alla kommer dock inte med tillbaka…

Den femte delen av Virgin River var lite segare än de tidigare, kanske för att när en händelsekedja verkar vara på gång att klaras av påbörjas en ny och sen en till och… Men det är fortfarande intressant att följa personerna både i lyckliga och mindre lyckliga stunder. Så ja, jag påbörjade även sjätte delen direkt.

I mostly skimmed this book so I don’t think it would be fair for me to give it a rating. I think this was a ‘it’s not you, it’s me’ situation. I just wasn’t keen on the dynamic of knowing what was coming and the entire plot being one giant miscommunication trope
