Handling Mr. Harper
By Elle Nicoll

Mr. Harper had butterflies going crazy in my stomach, I was constantly swooning. Elle Nicoll created an actual unicorn with this character. I’m putting my request out there – if you find a real-life Drew Harper, send him my way or at least a brother!!

Handling Mr. Harper is such an enjoyable read and had me turning pages faster than usual. Drew (MMC) has always had Sophie (FMC) in the back of his mind after meeting her four years ago on a blind date – she was not his date though, as she’ll remind him throughout their story. He’s on the administrative side of a construction company and she’s a prosecutor who works hard for her clients. She’s working on a case where she continually gets bad feelings about it, and she even receives threats. When a celebration party brings Drew & Sophie to the same place at the same time years after that blind date, and on the heels of a breakup between Sophie and her ex-boyfriend, fate delivers their second chance.

Drew & Sophie are spice-on-spice-on-spice! Their chemistry is electric and it was beautifully written! As they are in their early stages of dating, Drew is convinced Sophie is “it” for him and he is very serious about it. I believe Sophie found it endearing but didn’t take his pledge as serious as he meant it initially. When she realizes she is pregnant and the estimated gestation leaves the window of conception around the time she broke up with her ex-boyfriend and when she got together with Drew the first time, she realizes Drew is completely serious about his declaration of wanting to be with her forever. The level of support and adoration Drew shows her after she shares her news is incredible. On top of that, she discovers he has a pregnancy kink – as in, he knows she’s pregnant with what will be their baby and it makes him overcome with lust and desire. I was jealous of Sophie at this point because I have never experienced a man with this type of kink but it was hot AF. Also, since she has been bossy since the moment he met her, he nicknames her “Boss” and hands-down, this is my favorite pet name from any romance book I have read. He also calls her “Mama” which is sweet, but Boss was what got me!

As Sophie continues with her case for client Chelsea, the seriousness of what she is digging in to intensifies and those around her start to become concerned with her safety, especially knowing she is pregnant. Around the same time, a MAJOR plot twist drops and if your jaw doesn’t hit the floor, I want to know why because it took me a few minutes to process and continue when I read chapter 17! This outed secret threatens to ruin more than one relationship and we never saw it coming!

With this new secret coming to light, Drew and Sophie continue to face challenges from others as they are becoming more serious in their relationship and her pregnancy progresses. There’s another surprise surrounding the first appointment with the OB doctor – also leaving me awestruck! They keep battling the obstacles thrown their way and I was glad to see they stuck together through the majority of these issues, always vowing to communicate with each other to keep no secrets. This is what ultimately saves their relationship in the end, though they have a period of eight tumultuous days apart very close to when Sophie is expected to deliver but leave it to Sophie to pick up on things others didn’t, putting two-and-two together to end the intentional friction being created by another character. I felt the grief and agony these characters were going through during this time apart – I was so sad for them! Alas, Elle Nicoll gave us a satisfying ending with an entertaining epilogue!

I recommend this book to hopeless romantics who enjoy all the spice, cuz Mr. Harper brings it and Sophie can hold her own when he does!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

If you love a fictional man who is instantly obsessed Handling Mr Harper is the book for you. This is my first Elle Nicoll book and really liked it. Drew Harper is instantly obsessed with Sophie and 100% knows what he wants. He just has to get Sophie on board. I am an absolute sucker for pregnancy trope and Elle delivered. This book is full of spice, swoony moments and suspense I couldn’t see coming. I definitely will be checking out the other books in this series!

✨ARC Review✨
.
Handling Mr. Harper book 9 in The Men Series.
.
Oh how I have been wanting Drew & Sophie’s story!! Ever since they first met I KNEW there was going to be a serious connection there & Elle has been teasing us ever since & we are finally here!!
.
Ever since Drew first met Sophie on a blind double date he knew there was something about her.. Too bad she wasn’t interested in dating at the time. Despite his best efforts she just wasn’t budging so he bowed out.
Four years later here they both are at the launch of Vex, (Logan’s eco rocket engine design from Resisting Mr. Rich) seemingly unattached.
Their connection is too strong & electric to ignore and they wind up hooking up after the party.
Which leads to dating…which lead to… 2 little pink lines….and now they find themselves in a very interesting situation.
Drew is definitely my favorite type of book boyfriend. Perceptive, attentive, supportive & basically worships his woman *swoon* and he’s got a bit of a breeding kink which is pretty hot.
Sophie is such an incredible woman & so so strong. It’s nice to see her treated well & find that not every man is a lying, cheating idiot.
The connection between them is just wow. You can just tell that they’re IT for each other & watching their story come together & grow was just perfection.
Absolutely LOVED this book!

In "Handling Mr. Harper," Elle Nicole masterfully weaves a tale of love, loyalty, and unexpected twists that keep readers engaged from cover to cover. At the heart of the story are Drew and Sophie, whose lives intertwine in the most unexpected of ways, setting the stage for a journey filled with both challenges and triumphs.

The novel introduces us to Drew, a character whose loyalty and unwavering devotion make him instantly endearing. From the moment he falls for Sophie, readers are swept up in the intensity of his emotions, rooting for him to find happiness despite the obstacles in his path. Meanwhile, Sophie is portrayed as a woman who trusts her judgment and values stability above all else. However, when a twist of fate throws her life into disarray, she finds herself leaning on Drew for support, setting the stage for a complex and captivating romance.

One of the novel's standout features is its exploration of the complicated relationship between Drew and his father, Henry. Elle Nicole deftly navigates the nuances of their dynamic, adding depth and richness to the storyline. As Drew and Sophie navigate the challenges that life throws their way, readers are treated to a rollercoaster of emotions, with each twist and turn keeping them guessing until the very end.

While some aspects of the plot may seem familiar to fans of the accidental pregnancy trope, Elle Nicole injects her own unique twist, bringing a sense of spontaneity and freshness to the story. Despite moments of predictability, the novel is filled with enough unexpected developments to keep readers on their toes and invested in the outcome.

Overall, "Handling Mr. Harper" is a delightful read that combines romance, drama, and heartwarming moments in equal measure. With its well-developed characters, engaging storyline, and satisfying conclusion, this book is sure to leave readers eagerly anticipating Elle Nicole's next literary endeavor.

Elle Nicoll is a new to me author but I am now adding the rest of the books in this series to my TBR.

Handling Mr. Harper is the 9th book in the The Men series but the first book I have read.  There are interconnecting characters but I did not feel lost not knowing who they were.  You also get, twists & turns, suspense, chemistry, and a surprise pregnancy.

Drew is an obsessed cinnamon roll who has a breeding kink and Sophie is a smart lawyer with a strong backbone who doesn’t take any crap from anyone.

Drew and Sophie first met 4 years before and from that point Drew was obsessed with her and he could not get her out of his head, even though at that time she was not interested in getting into any form of relationship.

We fast forward to the present and they meet again.

Sophie has just dumped her boyfriend Henry, after she found out he was married and Drew is determined that this time he is going to get what he wants….her.

After Sophie begins her relationship with Drew, she finds out she is pregnant.  Are the babies Drew’s or Henry’s.  Drew doesn’t care.

There was a twist regarding Drew and her ex, that I did not see coming.

If you love the surprise pregnancy, he falls first, and a cinnamon roll hero tropes, then you need to read this one.

WOW! This book is so so good!! You really need to give this a try!!

Drew and Sophie meet a few years ago on a double date, and since then Drew has been pining for her. Four years later, Sophie finds out that her ex is married and thus kicks him out. But everything doesn't stop there, because at some point two pink lines appear, and her life changes, especially when she realizes that she doesn't know which of the men (her ex or Drew) is her father.

Drew is totally excited to become a father, and he doesn't care if it's his or not. All he wants is to be with Sophie, to support her and offer her his love. Of course, her ex keeps putting obstacles in their happiness, but they always manage to stay together.

Of all the characters, Drew was definitely my favorite. He was so attentive to her, and did not hesitate at all to offer her his love. He was totally melted over her!

Nothing could have prepared me for the plot twists in the book and how good the author delivered them.

This was the first time I read a book written by this author and I will definitely read more books written by her.

Thank you Elle Nicoll for the opportunity to read this amazing book in exchange for an honest review.
