Dat gezegd zijnde vond ik het wel een sterkte van het boek dat het moeilijke onderwerpen rond mentale gezondheid niet uit de weg ging;

I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were delightful and the romance cute and so supporting. I loved the mental health and neurodiversity representation but also focus. This book doesn't shy away from the struggles of depression, anxiety, panic discords, obsessive compulsive disorders or anything else. It shows you may not always be loved for your differences until you meet the right people. I enjoyed the lgbtqia+ rep as well. There is a few awakenings in this that was wonderful to read. I loved that while it might take some time for you to realize your worth you will eventually get there. You will realize what you deserve. It's a struggle I know personally so it gives me hope. I mentioned earlier the romance was supportive. Both mains supported and helped each other. They both made each other feel seen. They both helped each other realize they deserved more than they thought they did. This was an emotional book. I got frustrated a few times during this but I also felt the characters were real. They made choices I didn't agree with or I found frustrating but I understood why they did. It fit their character. The only small issue I have is
besides an off hand mention of Dev's script being looked at by professionals it wasn't really talked about. I wanted to see more about it. I felt it was important to show but oh well. /spoiler> I liked the ending of this, how things are finished.
All in all I loved this book.

Sometimes you read a perfect romance and you know it's gonna stick with you for years. Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert was like that for me and now I can add The Charm Offensive to the (very) short list of best romance books I've read.

Cochrun is a master at creating emotional moments with real-feeling characters, then tying all those moments into a (mostly*) believable plot. I loved every moment of this book and it made me feel seen in a variety of ways. More queer love stories with people who have mental illnesses, please!

*mostly because
the firing of the showrunner after she was openly homophobic didn't ring true LOL but I still loved that moment anyway.

They are so CUTE I loved them so much.
It’s been weeks and I’m still thinking about them. The story was hilariously dumb but their relationship was so cute it. I don’t even watch reality tv but this book makes me want to try it out. I loved the way they addressed mental health in this book and I just want more of the characters in this world.

This book gave me the warm fuzzy feelings, and I loved the main characters SO MUCH. I really thought I was going to be able to anticipate how it wrapped up but it surprised me, and it had great conversations about mental health which I loved. There are a few pieces of backstory that I wish were explored a little deeper and I would love to see these characters again to maybe get that resolution!
