4/5 I'm-so-excited-for-more stars!

Story: 4/5
I deliberately picked this up because I was looking for a Cinderella retelling and I don't regret it. I was hooked from the very first chapter! I'm enjoying the world-building and though it's too soon to say much about the characters, chemistry and romance, I look forward to finding out more.

Thing I liked the best: concept and wordbuilding - I'm intrigued and have theories.

Thing I liked the least: the smut part...I think it's the writing but I'm not sure. It felt disconnected. I listened through it on 1.8x

Audiobook: 4.25/5
Clear, fluid and distinctive voice. It might be just me but the voice of the narrator (Edward Fox) is very fitting for the fantasy setting.

Going to pick up book 2!

Audio: 5/5 Hannah Hart was a great addition. It elevated the whole experience.

Story: 4~4.25/5

I liked this a lot more than #1. Plot-driven and packed with action. Leonid and Serxio bromance had me smiling. Rohan and Finn are super sweet too. So, so many unanswered questions. Excited for more things to unfold.

I'll definitely pick #3 after a short break. Bonus because the book opens with a succinct summary. It makes it so much easier to resume.

SoOoOooOoo much potential ruined by poor world building, redundant language, and the cheesiest cringiest sex scene that made me laugh out loud LMAO. There are 5 books in this series...... why are they already fucking and so obnoxiously obsessed with each other in the first half of the first book. Ugh. Also, calling this a retelling of Cinderella is a long shot.

Side note - the narrator was incredible (except for his female voice).

Can't believe I spent a whole credit on this :(

Keeps getting better

OK so the story continues and Finn is indeed a fierce and quick witted man. Rohan comes into his own and dare I say Serxio and Leonid’s relationship is hilarious. I hope Thomas gets what is coming to him.

Audio: 5 stars Edward Fox did a great job and the fact they added in Hannah Hart for all the women parts was a great decision!

Book: 4-4.5 stars

Damn these cliffhangers, I am so glad the whole series is done because I don’t think I could wait for the next book!

This one had way more action and the bromance for Leonid and Serxio is coming in strong haha!

I do love how even when there was some omissions both Rohan and Finn didn’t make a big deal of it!

While I can’t go in to detail of what happened in these books because of the cliffhangers and it would spoil the book, just know they are addictive and worth the read!
