A Swoony and Steamy masterpiece.
I could not put this down. Like with book 1 this drew me in from the start and the writing is so melodic and immersive. Sabine and Basten are everything! The romance is captivating, it's such a rollercoaster with their forbidden love and the implications of being discovered. There's the ever present danger lurking in the background of the prophecies, the mad King and deadly secrets that builds the suspense too. Loved the character arcs in this, the use of Sabines powers, and her courage, determination and passion. So much happens in those final chapters and that Cliffhanger is brutal. Book 3 can't come soon enough!

✨"The greatest love comes from hate. I wouldn't have it any other way"
✨"A love like ours? It's meant to last"
✨"I would give up every prize beneath the heavens just to win one more day with you"
✨"If I lost you, the seven kingdoms would burn to ash in the wake of my fury"
✨"You're the dream I dare not wake from"

Loving this book! It was such a great pick up from the first book and the ending has me shook! Having to wait till October for the next one seems like too long but I’m excited to see where this goes!

I can’t really explain why I like this series so much it’s just great vibes, tension, & it’s addictive.

This one is a lot spicier than the first and the plot had some stuff I didn’t see coming which was fun!!

Idk how to explain it but I love when couples can’t be together for whatever reason & this had plenty of that!

Some of the romance gave me the ick but that’s not abnormal for me when it comes to ~confessions of love~

My big complaints are
his name being wolf most of the time I don’t get the purpose of that? Also don’t think it’s realistic BASTEN (I refuse to say wolf) would ditch rian like that? Also how are these people not pregnant.

Onto the third :)

Wolf is a creep. Possessive and controlling are not green flags. I rooted for Rian, he deserved better. He's the only one who didn't talk down to Sabine like she was a child, incapable of making her own decisions...

Lame amnesia trope + toxic MMC

Hmmm the second book is a little disappointing🫠 there were parts that I loved and parts that make me cringe (the smut hahahah no offense).

The prologue had my attention and I was invested but it got repetitive and boring. The plot twists were soap opera standard ngl. Very cliche😂 And what happened to the villain? That’s so…anti climatic😂

I’m cracking my head on good things to gush about but I can’t seem to think of any🙊 the book isn’t bad it’s just mediocre. Maybe less on the smut and more on the plot? Like who took volume 2 of the book? Why was the first one on the floor? So who exactly is the conspirator? Is the mad king really mad?

I fell in love with Evie Marceau's work when I read book 1 in The Godkissed Bride series, White Horse Black Nights. You can imagine my excitement when I saw I was chosen to be an ARC reader for Silver Wings Golden Games. Did it disappoint? Of course not! It was just as good, if not better, and left me wanting for more. Book 3 cannot come soon enough!

Silver Wings Golden Games continues the story of Sabine and Wolf, following the events of book 1. The sequel is intriguing, enthralling, it keeps you on your toes waiting to see what happens next. And the spice is executed perfectly - there is a chapter (won't spoil which one) that will be living rent free in my head for months to come.

Evie knows her characters and makes us connect with them - Sabine grows into her power and finds more of her inner voice, and I love how her character develops; Wolf is still your perfect morally grey character, but with more layers now. Side characters are great, too, and this is maybe why Silver Wings Golden Games is even better than book 1, the story is broader, more complex.

We are left with a huge cliffhanger, and now we hold our breaths until book 3 :)

This part was a little less engaging than the first part, but it still had some fun and interesting chapters as well. I think what mostly threw me off was that I felt like the mmc was more harsh in this book, whereas in the first book we saw more of his softer and caring side? In this book his love seemed more possessive.

This series is pure entertainment. This is even more fun than the first book in the series.

Sabine and Wolf are caught in a whirlwind of unresolved feelings, undeniable chemistry, and conflicting allegiances. Sabine forgiving Wolf so quickly might feel a little rushed, but their undeniable connection keeps things engaging. Meanwhile, Rian is proving to be surprisingly complex, making me wish this was a Why Choose situation. The tension between Sabine and Wolf, plus the deliciously fraught tension with her betrothed, keeps emotions and stakes running high. This book leans into its darker tones more than the first.

And then there’s the animal communication powers, which continue to be an absolute delight. These moments add a unique charm to Sabine’s character and the story. Combined with the escalating chaos of awakening fae and court intrigue, it makes for a captivating world that’s as entertaining as it is dangerous. So much fun, you can forgive the conveniences in the plot.

If you’re here for drama, romance, and pure fantastical escapism, Silver Wings Golden Games delivers on every front. This sequel is more intense, more entertaining, and even better than its predecessor.
