Not enough happened to justify an entire book, the story was very repetitive. Struggled to finish.

Didn't enjoy the writing style, and found the stories repetitive

Absolutely adored this book - did not think a book about night shifts in a servo would be this entertaining and loved it!

I enjoyed it mainly because it made me feel better about my job. It was funny, with fantastic usage of dark humour, and very effectively shows the shittiest side of retail work. It was possibly too long, as towards the back half, the contents did feel a bit repetitive, but that could also be that my attention span was just not great while I was reading. All in all, a solid 3 star book.

Stories were funny but the writing was too flowery for something that should’ve been simple. Got boring after a while.

Took a while to acclimate to the sheer white maleness of the writing - the commitment to using race as a main denominator between characters, the indulgent wordiness (as if every thought he's ever had is poetic and paramount). However, overall I found Servo to be a worthwhile reflection on how a lengthy stint in customer service can affect one's psyche. As a 10-year customer service worker... forgive me if I treat this story as a speck of hope.
