SAFE

On Sale: June 9, 2020
SAFE is about Jenny a little girl kidnapped 12 years ago that suddenly returns home, or so I thought!!!
I started this book thinking I knew what was going to happen, that it was predictable but I couldn’t have been more wrong. This story took it so much further than I was thinking and I am impressed.
The writing style was well paced, fun, and exciting. The characters were flawed and cringe worthy, especially Jenny and Ben. These kids endured so much pain that the mother in me felt like screaming at the book. That visceral reaction always means I am going to love a book. Sometimes its painful getting there but if words on a page can make me feel all that… then job well done!
I have to warn you that this book is not for everyone!. There are triggers, and a lot of them: drugs, sexual abuse, kidnapping, and physical abuse being most prominent.
Thank you to my friend @2babesandabookshelf for sharing this ARC with me! Thank you @dutton and @skbarnett for such a though provoking novel that blew my mind!

First of all....WOW. WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS BOOK?!!!
I dont even think i can really say too much about it other than the fact that it is DARK and TWISTED and probably one of the best books I've read in a long time. It had me hooked from the beginning and completely baffled me more times than one. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone that likes psychological thrillers/ "what the fuck" moments. Seriously good book.

Safe was an interesting one that I enjoyed very much.
It’s one of those reads that initially seems fairly transparent that is until you delve deeper.
This was such an easy read that I completed in one sitting.
Full of twists and turns it pulled me in investing me in the unfolding narrative.
This is primarily a psychological thriller centring on Jenny a girl who at 6 years old was kidnapped while walking to her friend's house two doors away.
Now 12 years later a girl claiming to be the missing Jenny has reappeared she knows all about Jenny’s past and details only Jenny could know she appears authentic and the grieving parents welcome her into there home with open arms.
The only one who seems suspicious of her claims and her motives is Jenny’s older brother Ben who right from the beginning isn’t convinced.
It’s also not long before Jenny is herself having suspicions of her own ones concerning her parents and starts to investigate stuff for herself.
This is mostly told from Jenny’s POV and we also get a few instances from the brother Ben and the father Jake.
Safe essentially was a well crafted psychological thriller that easily kept my attention with its mystery and intrigue and I’m happy to recommend.
My only slight issue was the finish which I found slightly anti-climatic.
I still enjoyed this but did think the ending let things down slightly.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Safe.

The best psychological thriller I’ve read so far this year. Very fast paced, it makes you inhale it wanting more and more. You’ll never figure out what is going to happen next. There are so many twisted twists.
