This book could have gotten a 3; it wasn't a bad book. But, I am so sick of the main character being so pathetic in most books. Emotionally screwy? Sure, no problem. But the descriptions of the character's inability to actually wash a load of laundry in this book really got to me, as did the descriptions of how disgusting her house was. I am not an overly clean person, but the descriptions here grossed me out. I like a character who has issues, but isn't a completely pathetic mess. And I really can't understand how she supposedly had a crush on one guy for 7 or so years, and her best friend never had a clue? Seriously; there were some things I just couldn't accept in this book, and they made it hard to believe any of the others. It was very inconsistent, and was only saved from one star by the dog.

My favourite part (and really the only reason I picked it up) was the awesome dog.

Savannah ("Van") has been in love with her friend Peter for six years. He even asked her to marry him… if they weren't married by the time they were thirty. But well before that deadline, Van finds herself as a bridesmaid while her college best friend marries her childhood best friend. The relationships with each change drastically, and Van tries to find her footing. This means she's drinking more, which leads to accidentally ordering a German Shepherd puppy online. When the puppy is more than she bargains for, Van has to adjust to her completely new life. This book is an entertaining read that will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, and you won't want to put down until you're all done.

Savannah "Van" is kind of a whiner. She whines about her love over Peter, yet did nothing about it and put herself in the 'friend zone' because of money and class. She whines about her best friend's mom, Diane, buying people off, yet takes money that is (what she believes) for keeping her away from Peter and Janie, who are now married. And she wines so much about her love and her best friend getting married, yet doing nothing about it ever that she gets drunk and watches Rin Tin Tin, resulting in her buying a German Shepherd from Slovakia.
So Van is kind of a whiner. And was kind of annoying. Yet I still liked her. Probably because, truthfully,I would more than likely act the same way she is relatable to most females who would have that happen to them. But what really saved the book, for me, was Joe.

Joe made van grow up. Joe made Van get a backbone and kinda stand up for herself finally. Granted, Van did fall back into Alex, but I can possibly excuse that because she actually LIKED him, and not just lusted over his physical form, like she did with Pete. Also, Alex is so freakin adoringly attractive with how he worked his way in through Joe.
I can't help it. I like a guy who loves animals.
3 stars, because until Van started getting a backbone, she was annoying as hell. 3 stars because it also is one of those quick pop reads- cute, but probably wouldn't pick up again.

Cute book, a light chick lit sort of read... I have to say, I wanna read one with a cat as the companion. :p

Cute book. It went fast, and I actually ended up staying up late to finish it.

It was a nice story, but I couldn't help but feel that it was to long. To me it just seemed to drag on and then it just ended. I would have like to have seen more between the Two couples and if they managed to work out their problems.
