Lure of the Fox continues the saga of the Aloha Shifters and concludes story arc of the Spirt Stones.

I have adored this series and community of shifters. This story is packed with action, suspense, and romance. It’s well written with a few twists plus a verity of shifters to enjoy. We get to see all our previous couples and a unique kind of shifter. The world is built beautifully. I have enjoyed how Ms. Lowe builds her world and characters.

Lure of the Fox was a sweet romance of second chances. Destiny will not be denied this time around. I had a little trouble getting into the story. Not sure if it was me or the story. If felt a little slow for my taste and things didn’t pick up until the 50% mark when the action starts to happen. The romance between Jake and Ella was sweet. It’s a slow build. Even though they have previously been together each kinda pushes the other way, well Ella more then Jake, until they deiced to give things a chance.

The ending was acceptable. We don’t get closer on Moira. She is the evil dragon shifter who wants the Spirt Stones, so the author has left it open for more stories to pop up. And, the way Lure of the Fox ends and the talk that the Aloha Shifters have about bringing in some Security help, well we might be getting a spin-off with more shifters to enjoy.

Lure of the Fox was a satisfying read. I’m excited to read the spin-off. I do recommend reading this series in order, but it’s not necessary, though you might get better enjoyment if you do.

Rated: 3 Stars

I absolutely love this series. I’m a little sad that it’s ending. But it did end with a great book. Of course I can rejoice in the fact that there will be a spinoff series. I can’t wait. This book was really good I loved the main characters. They were really well written.

Love, mystery and danger

I loved Ella and Jake’s destined mates, human-shifter, fake marriage, romance with a side of past trauma. The story is filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love. Jake is a human who recently was discharged from the military and is feeling a bit unmoored and having difficulty settling into civilian life. Ella is a fox shifter who also recently retired from the military. While they were still active duty and on a joint exercise, they shared one steamy night together. Jake knows nothing about shifters although he’s heard a few fantastical made up stories. Ella recognized Jake as her fated mate but her past trauma meant she decided to fight fate and walked away. When Jake and Ella are both hired by friends to help with security for Koa Point, a Hawaiian estate where five former military men and their mates live, it gets harder to fight fate and ignore the call of the mate bond and that is before they need to go undercover as newlyweds on their honeymoon. To get to their HEA, they will have to some baggage unpacking and truth telling in order to deal with their painful pasts while dogging bad guys with evil plots, of course. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, good world building, and an engaging storyline as shown through sweet moments, steamy scenes, fighting, dangerous situations, shifter physiology and cultures, evil actors, henchmen, loyal friends and family, painful pasts, mystery, revelations, plot twists, big feels, and laughs.

Lure of the Fox

A-Maz-ing! I can’t tell you enough how great this series is. Every book is better than the last and this one is perfect! I love the idea of a fox shifter and how size doesn’t matter and you can still be just as strong and fierce as the bigger shifters and sometimes even better. Such an amazing book with just as great narration. And since I know you will love this series and want more, you should totally check out the Pearls of Desire series next!

Maybe it's not my favorite one, but I liked it a lot!
I'm so sad I will not read more about this group of people, but I can't wait to start the next saga!

Great Conclusion!

Rated 1-5 stars w/ 5 being the best

Overall: 4 stars
Performance: 4 stars
Story: 4 stars

I was so happy to see Ella get a book. There was always something intriguing about her. I loved her with Jake. I ached every time Ella would remind her fox why she couldn't mate with Jake. The smexy scene in the hotel was scorching!

I truly loved how Jake handled finding out about shifters and didn’t let it scare him away from the woman he loved or his friends. It showed what a strong person he really is.

The ending was somewhat predictable as we know the main characters will ride off into the sunset together. Still…it was a satisfying ending to the series.

Ms. Lowe did a great job of weaving the 5 books into a great series to read and/or listen. Ms. Osborne’s narration was well done as well.

While this series is complete, Moira is still out there somewhere planning her evil schemes. Thank goodness we have a spin-off series coming so we can eventually see her downfall. I'm hoping the original Island crew has cameos so we can peek in on their lives.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of the audiobook.

Ella Kitt, fox shifter, foster sister to Kai and Hunter has come home to Maui. A former member of the Koa point shifters' military team she's come to help with security. But, they need more help. Enter Ella's one night fling Jake McBride. Did the guys know they were playing matchmaker? There's still a spirit stone to find and Jake has his own mystery in his life. This story as with the others has a sweet sexy romance. Jake is human and doesn't know about shifters. And the baddies will cause as much havoc as possible. Let's go along on the fast paced yet introspective journey with Ella and Jake.

Book 6 of the Jewel of the Hearts series by Anna Lowe. Lure of the Fox.
Ella Kitt is a fox shifter that hasn’t met member of her own shifter species. She’s the only female shifter that’s part of a elite special forces group that has now retired to a Hawaii island and the group takes care of a private estate that is very private.
Jake McBride is a human special forces that has worked with Ella and her shifter group but doesn’t know anything about shifters or mates but one night Ella lets her guard down and has a very steamy night with Jake but afterwards can’t commit to him and the parts ways only to meet up on Maui for a protection job on Kao point.
I’ve been dying to read/listen to Ella’s story for months. You know very little about her at start but each book previously teases you with a new titbit. I absolutely loved this whole book and I did try and pace myself but that did not happen I listen to it in half a day and then had to wait to write this review because I was gutted the series had ended.
Fantastic narration from Kelsey Osborne especially been able to express each very different character individually.
Looking forward to checking out more audiobooks by Anna Lowe especially the spin of series which I think is Pearls of Desire.
