This one felt much slower than some of the other books in the series. It did have some nice twists and turns and the fact that the antagonist was almost like Dexter that was a sort of cool twist. It was still a fun read and I will continue to read from the series when I get around to it.

Another good addition to the series. By the time we hit #54 there's very little to talk about. These are my brain junk food.

One of my favorite series. This was a unique case, that throws back to the 2000's. It was fun watching Eve & Peabody research that era of clothing and fashion :)
Eve is always so much more invested when it hits close to home. The whodunnit was a nice twist to the story.
It was fun to see Jamie pop up in this book. The competition between EDD and Roarke was a funny background flavor throughout the book.

Really enjoyed. Interesting murder - like how it was solved. Nice characters, some old favorites -- liked seeing Quilla and Jamie appear in the story. Definitely recommend

Eh. It was okay.
I still love the characters and the world; I really enjoyed a couple of new characters introduced in this instalment, specifically, though I don't know if we'll ever see her again. I didn't really love the flashback installments; I understand why they were there, but they didn't do their job for me and instead just sort of sucked me out of the part of the story I was here for.
I also didn't love the amnesia plotline. Like. That's not how it works. Somebody show me one single study of even one single patient in which this actually happened in real life, and that's not even counting how apparently. I know, I know, suspend your disbelief, but it felt like just a poor excuse
The sneak peek of the next one is very interesting though and I'm really looking forward to it!

amnesia deletes addictions???Spoiler
to make us feel sorry for Lisa/Violet and give a "good" reason for her not coming back for her kid. Maybe an equally good reason would have been that she genuinely thought he had a better life after being adopted and didn't want to disrupt that, or the adopted parents refused to let her get in touch with him?Spoiler
I feel kinda bad for the lab, tbh. Between this and Obsession in Death, they're losing workers to murderous behaviour left and right. Time to get some group therapy in?The sneak peek of the next one is very interesting though and I'm really looking forward to it!

Abandoned in Death by JD Robb
I give this book 4.25 stars
3 young women have gone missing. But no one links their disappearances until the first is found lying peacefully on a bench in a children's playground. Her hands are folded over a childish sign on which is written in black crayon - BAD MOMMY.
Lt Eve Dallas and her team are brought in to investigate Lauren's murder and uncover the links to the other two women. Can they find out enough about the missing women and unmask their captor before they kill again....?
Although this is book 54 it’s the first one lve read.l love Nora Roberts and had no idea she was JD Robb.
I took to Eve straight away she’s a strong female lead.,tough, smart and compassionate This book covers more of the Police procedural side of the story which l find intriguing, and l really enjoyed how the main characters personal lives were mixed into the case.l found it well written with a solid plot, it completely held my attention and I had no idea who the killer was.
Was it good enough to make me want to start from book 1 and read them all…… the answer is YES!
With thanks to Netgalley,JD Robb and Little, Brown Book Group UK, Piatkus for my chance to read and review this book

How am I on book 54 of this series and still loving it? Other than the Baby-Sitter's Club and Sweet Valley High I don't think I have read so many books in a series without getting annoyed. I feel so crochety so am glad I am still reading this series and loving it. I love the balance of gritty and humour between the characters. Dallas and Peabody are my favourite buddy team!
***I received a complimentary copy of this ebook from the publisher through Edelweiss. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.***
