I love the Cinderella story!! I thought this was wonderfully done, it was not exactly like the Disney ver. of Cinderella which was nice. A nice easy read!

Here is a rather well written retelling of the classic "Cinderella". It's magical, fantastical, and all too peaceful.
I will admit, Cameron Dokey has a gift with words and storytelling. She weaves a story interesting enough to be its own while not straying to far from the original.
The only problem I had with this one is the fact that Cendrillon falls in love with the twin of her childhood friend on first sight. I mean..really!? They are identical twins, so what's the likelihood she can like one but not the other?
I understand this is suppose to be due to the magic of "true love" but seriously, that may be a bit too much.
Also, there's no evil, wicked stepmother. Only one of the stepsisters are "evil" (but she ends up being rather nice in the end).
So if you're into good endings, and a rather clean version of Cinderella, you'll enjoy this.

What I can fault this novel with is mostly would be the Queen's presence and Cinderella's father's... presence/absence (and perhaps also the fact that it was somewhat predictable). Otherwise, it pleased the romantic in me. It was a nice rendition of the fairy tale. Very nicely done.

I love the characters and how Cendrillion describes everything. When I first read the first page I instantly got hooked. I love all the twist and its a very emotional story. I do have to admit that I did cry when she encounters her father.

Not my favourite retelling of Cinderella but it was interesting. I really like the twist of changing the "evil" parent to the father.

Between the stiff, overly formal dialogue and all the insta-love, I just could not get behind this Cinderella retelling.

A refreshing change from most Cinderella stories, this one is more pure, with more loving characters, and a heroine who stands up more for herself

Revisiting this beautiful series of fairy tale retellings for the first time in several years! This one used to be one of my favorites, and still is. I love the re-imagined version of Cinderella, how the stepmother and stepsisters aren't the villains...and the romance isn't bad either!
