Very sweet. Percy is a puddle pug, but when he finds the perfect puddle, there's already a pig family living in it. The baby pigs like him and want to share, but mama pig is not as friendly. When Percy pig saves little Petunia pig from a storm, mama realizes there's enough puddle to go around. Cute, repetitive in a good way, rhyming, adorable illustrations, good story. A bit wordy for really little ones, 3+. Spring, pigs, puddles, rain.

This pug is adorable, and his quest for perfect puddles is great fun. The Disney-like illustrations are the epitome of cuteness. I only wonder why Percy the pug and Petunia the pig are named as they are. Didn't Disney's Pocahontas and Looney Tunes already claim those names? The alliteration is great, just not the most original. This is only a small quibble, though. The story is still very amusing.

Cute story; love the alliteration. This would be great in a storytime, perhaps paired with The Piggy in the Puddle by Charlotte Pomerantz.

Picked at random from the library shelf by our two-year-old, Percy the Puddle Pug became an instant fave character in our household. A classic tale of having to prove one's self in order to be accepted, our daughter is quite taken with the tale and the illustrations.

Read at all-ages "underground" storytime. Kids LOVED it. It was new to them, but from the minute they saw the cover they were begging me to read it. Maybe they were pug fans? High cuteness quotient. The text is excellent too--lots of good vocab, some rhyming, places for kids to read with you (one of the kids just started reading it right off the page, unprompted). "P" sounds and alliteration is plentiful; this would be an excellent choice for a "P" or "P sound" storytime.

Quite a determined little pug who wins the hearts of his audience as well as momma pig.
