This was a fun YA read. The storyline and writing was a bit cliche at times, but I liked that Gagnon used hackers and streetkids as main characters, as it felt more original and interesting. Not my favorite book, but entertaining and engaging. I will be reading the next two books in the trilogy so that I can find out what happens next!

Dragon Tattoo, young adult edition. I'm annoyed by the series aspect of so many stories lately. It seems more marketing than anything in a lot of cases. That said, I want to know what happens next.

I just finished Michelle Gagnon's thrilling DON'T TURN AROUND and really enjoyed it. Though it's technically YA (the heroine and hero are both teenagers) it is just as compelling as an adult thriller. Teen hacker Noa is an American version of Lisbeth Salander, a foster child turned hacker. The book kicks into high gear immediately as she wakes up on a hospital table with a scar on her chest, and engineers a daring yet credible escape from her captors.
It's a chilling yet believable plot -- not the most satisfying ending, honestly, but apparently this is the first book in the series so you can't wrap everything up neatly.

A good, fast-paced thriller, I really enjoyed reading this book, even with the ending just leaving you wanting more; I am really curious to see where this is going. I feel the characters are well developed and that most teens will be able to relate to at least some aspect of their personalities and motives. It read a bit like a movie, but for teens I do not see that as a problem at all. I know I am going to read the next book and will not hesitate to recommend it.

2.5 - Narrator on audiobook was insufferable. Writer's vocabulary was super repetitive. Story had major eye-rolling moments and holes.

This was an excellent audio book. The story moves quickly, as Noa is constantly on the run. While it was hard to suspend my disbelief as Noa and Peter make their way through this nightmare, it was also fun to follow their techie solutions to their very physical and real problems. I'm not sure I'll read any more of the series, but this book stands on its own as a quality read.

It was so nice to read a book that wasn't a dystopia for a change! Now if it had been a one shot instead of a trilogy it would've been a perfect read.
Don't Turn Around is the closest I've found to a suspense movie thus far in YA. So many questions you don't get answers to, and new things popping up around every corner. I loved it. The characters are interesting and well-rounded, and definitely relate-able. No character is safe, however, and people you think are minor characters surprise you later on. See what I mean? Definitely worth a read. Add in computer geekery (like cracks against Windows 2000 and Gateway computers) and I was in love.
