Zoey wakes up in a luxury rehab facility in the Mexican desert after a night out, with no memory of how she got there. As she slowly comes to accept that maybe she does need to be there, people start dying...
I really enjoyed Haughton's [b:The Dark|56750252|The Dark|Emma Haughton|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1611041979l/56750252._SY75_.jpg|88695589] and this is a similar premise. People trapped in an isolated location with a killer. But unfortunately, this one wasn't quite up to the same standard. The characters weren't very likeable and it was all very unbelievable. I didn't hate it, but wouldn't recommend anyone rush to read it.

I found this book engaging. The main character wakes up in a remote place with no idea how she got there. Turns out she is at a wellness retreat paid for by a mysterious person. Her life has not been going well, she is more existing than living.
I loved the premise of this book. It is the second crime book by this author and it was extremely well written. I’m excited to read more by this author.

This was a solid three star throughout, until the end. Everything happened a bit too conveniently and step by step.

As someone who sees patterns in the opening credits of movies and the first few pages of books - this one surprisingly kept me guessing.
Zoey is a relatable character, for me at least. The story meanders along peacefully at a zen pace much like the pace at the retreat/rehabs she winds up in - but that’s good, I enjoyed it all.
A soothing, fun, lighthearted mystery that I would ready again!
