This was fine. A fun story, but it kind of fell flat compared to the first two books. I hope we get to see Katie's story in the future!

I was so happy to dive into this series, and now I’m sad that it came to an end. Ian and Veritas are just a great couple, and I enjoyed this wild ride. Not only was this an action-filled book with characters from different pantheons, but there was also humor, sadness, surprises, and so much love between the couple. Speaking of couples, it was great to see the MCs from the other series, and now I want some of the side characters in this one to get their own. This author is a word master, and she will keep you on the edge of your seat until you finish, breathless and spent. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

So I had been waiting for this book since I listened to them all last year. I loved all the books but for some reason this lacked a little, dont get me wrong it is still a must read/listen too. I loved that New Zealand, Christchurch was mentioned in it, since I am from New Zealand, but I think what I didnt like was too much detail in it. Tavia Gilbert did another fantastic job in narrating this. I loved that Vlad made a short and quick appearance as he is my favourite character closely followed by Bones :)

In the final installment of the Night Rebel series Veritas and Ian are taken out of this world -- literally. After defeating Dagon, the amount of power needed to kill him had consequences. Now they have to trust a deity named Phanes. But they have to be careful who they trust. And they're going to have to travel through multiple dimensions (including hell) to finally defeat all of their enemies.
Another fabulous book from the Night Rebel series. Such a strong finish.
I can't get over how much action, adventure, and rich world building there is in this series. I loved that Frost took us (along with the MC's) to even more new places. We get to travel to Phanes' world which is (on the surface) a paradise. But as the layers are peeled away, we see the horrors of his world.
And then we get to travel to the depths of hell with our MC's too!
The visuals for this book (and series) are phenomenal. I can picture everything like I'm right there. It's such a wild adventure.
Overall it's a fabulous finish to the series. I'm sad the series is over. I could honestly enjoy many more books featuring these two. But I'm glad they are firmly HEA and have made great strides when it comes to the various paranormal politics and whatnot going on too.
Highly recommend this series! I'd encourage you to read the Night Huntress books first (and perhaps the Night Prince books too). Jeanniene Frost has a reading order for the whole world on her website I'd recommend. They are much richer and more interesting when you read them in order.

If you want a synopsis, read the blurb.
A fair amount of the plot was rather forced, since there were societal points to clean up. As with others, as soon as you go from vampires and ghouls to gods and demigods, everyone needs to get so overpowered that it is way too tempting for the author to just pull another ability out of the hat. This was especially true for Ian (so that he could keep up with the gods and demigods).
The self-limitations that Ariel's father put on himself were interesting. The politics with Veritas vs the vampire council were quite interesting. But there was a lot of "Yeah, these changes needed to happen and so they did".

Maybe I made a mistake in reading all three books back-to-back. As good as this was, it also felt like Ian and Veritas spent the entire book running around and reacting to various outside situations. I guess there's a fine line between action-packed and too much running around. But I do absolutely love both Ian and Veritas!

My least favourite of her book series in the night huntress world, but still really liked it!

I wasn’t fully invested in this book. I loved Veritas & Ian in the previous books and they are battling with Vlad & Leila as my favourites. However, having the Night Prince recently reread the sequels felt much better intertwined than this one did.
To be entirely honest, the whole celestial plot could have been left out…and that was the sole plot of the book.
The whole book felt flat in that sense. I liked the other world at the beginning, tapping into an ancient setting but that was soon killed by releasing more gods and making the whole thing very staged which ultimately led to caring less about the characters.
I was somewhat intrigued when Phanes arrived in the finale of the second book but it felt so out of place…as if the plot was being forced upon the storyline in order to continue.
I do like the idea of the including gods in the whole world building but in this book I don’t think it lived up to the potential it could have had.
What I did enjoy a lot was the fact that Vlad was included a lot (yup I’m biased). However - where was Leila? I didn’t like it one single bit that she was basically left out of battle the. whole. time. I get it if Vlad didn’t want for her to come but we didn’t even hear that??
Speaking of - Veritas being trapped in the battle of the second book and now again?? Didn’t like that at all. Veritas is no one to sit back and watch - quite the opposite - but that makes it so unbelievable that she is trapped twice. I think it would have worked better if she had died again and found her ability to resurrect herself - which was mentioned that she might be able to already in the first book but wasn’t further explored at all. I thought this would have led up to some exploring of her powers especially with her brother, Ashael, being able to support. (Plus - can we have a book series on him finding his love please??)
Also I think intertwining those different story lines could work better if the books weren’t only focused on one love story. I know the first POV makes switching difficult but I was intrigued by the 3rd person perspective in the Prologue and Epilogue of the second book, therefore I think it could have had more potential.
On a whole, I was very, very much loving the first two and basically read the whole trilogy in one sitting over the past two days but this finale just disappointed me
