My son is too little to read it by himself but wanted it read to him from the library a cute Frozen II story. He is glad we got it.

There's nothing like a reductionist easy reader retelling to showcase how weird and disconnected a movie's plot is!

I liked Frozen II. It was a solidly three-star movie for me, but that's because I was there for the characters and the songs, not the plot. The story itself leaves much to be desired, and this easy reader adaption strips away everything meaningful about it to give readers a jumble of weird ideas. It even presents some of them out of chronological order, and even though I have seen the movie and have backstory for this, it was a confusing and unsatisfying read.

Children who are obsessed with Frozen will probably like this, but because it shares out-of-context snippets without telling the whole story, it's probably best for parents to borrow this from the library and see if their kid is Frozen-obsessed enough to love it before spending money on it.

This attractively illustrated book conveys the storyline of Frozen II without spoiling everything. Also, unlike the book for a lower reading level, this one keeps the events in chronological order and provides a clear, easy-to-follow story. If a family is going to spend money on a Frozen easy reader, I would definitely recommend this one over [b:Spirits of Nature (Step into Reading)|44908904|Spirits of Nature (Step into Reading) (Disney Frozen 2)|Natasha Bouchard|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1569871444l/44908904._SX50_.jpg|69576356].
