Frozen 2 Deluxe Step Into Reading #2 by The Walt Disney Company, Random House Disney
2.0
There's nothing like a reductionist easy reader retelling to showcase how weird and disconnected a movie's plot is!
I liked Frozen II. It was a solidly three-star movie for me, but that's because I was there for the characters and the songs, not the plot. The story itself leaves much to be desired, and this easy reader adaption strips away everything meaningful about it to give readers a jumble of weird ideas. It even presents some of them out of chronological order, and even though I have seen the movie and have backstory for this, it was a confusing and unsatisfying read.
Children who are obsessed with Frozen will probably like this, but because it shares out-of-context snippets without telling the whole story, it's probably best for parents to borrow this from the library and see if their kid is Frozen-obsessed enough to love it before spending money on it.
