Holy crap this was so good!!! Thank you Warden for going no holds barred on these new characters!

So many twists I didn't see coming. So many swoon-worthy moments! I can't wait for more of these characters!! The prison needs to be found!!! I need Apex and Lucan's story!!! Mayhem... he seems a bit (a lot) familiar!!!!

This gave me a book hangover in such a sweet way!!

Meh. Started and stopped many times. Too many loose ends in this story.

LOVE LOVED this!!! Renewed my interest in a series that got a little stale to me. I loved every character, especially our Kane and Mayhem and I need more of all of them.

Y’all. This book has me dead. I didn’t think I’d love it, but I thought it’d at least be a fun read. I mean, sexy prison vampires? Why not?

The pace was slow, except the sex scenes were fast and kind of hilarious. The first time it was like they both came as soon as he touched her and it made me giggle and picture awkward teenage vampires.

The amount of times they said “male” or “gentle male” or “female” or “his female” or “young” was excessive. Was there a bet on how many times this could be used?

Also, the premise was quarter cocked at best - who thinks you can just walk into a prison and take someone out?

And to top it all off, they essentially skipped into the sunset and got ice cream together at the end. I’m not sure if they literally skipped, but it was literally sunset and they got ice cream.

WHAT DID I READ?!?

SUMMARY:
The location of the glymera’s notorious prison camp was lost after the raids. When a freak accident provides Nyx clues to where her sister may still be doing time, she becomes determined to find the secret subterranean labyrinth. Embarking on a journey under the earth, she learns a terrible truth and meets a male who changes everything, forever. The Jackal has been in the camp for so long he cannot recall anything of the freedom he once knew. Trapped by circumstances out of his control, he helps Nyx because he cannot help himself. After she discovers what happened to her sister, getting her back out becomes a deadly mission for them both.

REVIEW:
The Jackal is the first book the BDB Prison Camp series where we meet Jackal and Nyx. The main storyline is the love story of Jackal and Nyx with a sub-storyline of the parentage between Rhage of the BDB and Jackal. There was a lot to take in with the flashbacks and the present day but I was hooked after first few chapters. The moment that Nyx had met Jackal was an interesting encounter as they were not expecting to meet each other in the Prison Camp but they were fated to be mates. It was an intense moment when Nyx found out that the commander of the Prison Camp was the sister she had been looking for but was really guilty of her crimes.

The beautiful moment that Jackal finds out his son is alive and that Rhage is his half-brother had me smiling. Jackal and Nyx seem like two people that wouldn't fall in love but they did because they compliment each other so well. Neither of them were looking for a mate especially in a Prison Camp but it was meant to be especially when Janelle set in motion the release of her son who Posie saves after they accidentally hit him with their car which then that leads Nyx to meet Jackal. Now onto the next book in the BDB Prison Camp series!

4.5 stars. ONLY because it's another Rhage related story! I need more of the other Brothers! And.. because I didn't feel a huge connection with Nyx and The Jackal (Jack) like I like them.. but didn't LOVE them. 3 days?! To have thus huge connection?

Interesting the back and forth from past to present, it was a little slow in the details department for a majority of the book. Be patient and when it all comes together then you get the ah ha moments.

The connection between Jack and Nyx is a strong one. I like that she doesn’t back down and neither does he. They fight for who they love.

I kinda loved the ending like so hard.

We also got to know the Wolfen a little which is nice since we have been teased with that for quite a while.

The Prison I knew was going to be a tough book because hello it is a prison underground but phew it was even more intense than I thought in a good and sad way.

I am a huge fan of the narrator no one can do these book like Jim. :)
