This is more like 4.5 stars for me. I listened to this book for hours at a time and was completely caught up in this sad, disturbing, hopeful, amazing story.

Remarkable book by Hill from the perspective of a woman. I devoured this book in one day. Hard to read at some parts, but always impossible to stop.

Sad story but good ending about growing up in Africa then being sold into slavery. This book has really stuck with me.
