This was a wonderful debut book from this author! Carter and Austin are great together but their road to happiness is a rocky one. Outside forces are working overtime to keep them apart. It was definitely suspenseful and nerve-wracking. The secondary characters make the story even better. They were a welcome addition to the book.

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Wonderful job! ❤️

Okay, I just have to say this. I seriously wanted to smack Austin the first half of the book. But that being said, I can totally see why he was the way he was with Carter because he fell into an easy and comfortable routine with her which snuck up on his blind side. But holy spit fire in Carter! She gives as good as she gets and I laughed so much with her witty remarks and comebacks! But once they both get their acts together, they just bloom together. When things go insane for Carter, how protective Austin was of her was just so swoon worthy. The twists and turns that this book tossed at you was brilliant as well. I found I could not put the book down at all!
As as whole, being the first book I have read by this author, I am going back for more! I hope there is a story for Liam too! I absolutely loved every moment of this book. The spice and the sizzle to the sweet swoon moments! This book had it all. I highly recommend this one!

One of the things I love about reading is discovering new books and new authors. Further To Fall is the exciting debut novel from author Catherine Cowles. And Catherine Cowles is definitely an author to keep an eye on.

Further To Fall follows the story of Carter and Austin. Told from dual points of view, this story will have you hooked from the first page and dying to see how the story is going to play out. I fell in love with Carter and Austin almost instantly. At first glance, Austin seemed like a total jerk with a side of alpha. I wasn’t too sure of him, but he quickly won me over. And Carter was just as sweet as can be. She was innocent in more ways than one, but had a fire inside that was just bursting to get out. Carter and Austin couldn’t be more opposite, yet they somehow became the best of friends. The journey to happily ever after wasn’t an easy one for these two. They had a lot of obstacles and fears to move past, but there was just something about this couple that had me rooting for them to find a happily ever after.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story. With a great mix of friendship, angst, sexy good times, drama and romance; this story hit all the marks for me. The characters were easy to connect with, even if they frustrated me at times. Carter and Austin’s story intrigued me and some really great push & pull. I also really enjoyed the added element of suspense that accompanied their story. The secondary characters also deserved to be metioned. I feel that they added a lot to the story and definitely have me wanting to see more of them in future stories.

Further To Fall was a really good read from beginning to end. I loved the innocence of Carter and the flaws of Austin. Their story isn’t just a romance. It’s also a story of letting go of the past and fears, learning to see past someone’s flaws, learning to communicate and finding love when you least expect it. Austin and Carters story is sweet with just the right amount of sexy to keep you coming back for more.

For a debut novel, I think Further To Fall was written pretty well. Sure there some bumps along the way, but nothing major or hard to overlook. I think this author has a ton of great potential and I’m excited to see where her writing is going to take us next.

4.5/5 stars.

I am literally crying at the fact that this was the last book in Catherine Cowles’ discography until Delicate Escape comes out. I’m in mourning.

This book was so much better than I thought it would be holy shit. I was skeptical in the beginning of the book, with Austin being a grade A asshole and Carter kind of being infantilized, but that only went on for a little while. I lived for their friendship, and then how Austin won Carter back, and then their relationship that follows. THEY WERE EVERYTHING IN THE LAST 50%.

Seeing Taylor made me emotional because I just read the Sutter Lake series before this, and seeing the mentions of her mom brought tears to my eyes. Seeing her and Liam in this book makes me want to go back and read the Sutter Lake series…

And FORD. I love him, obviously, and he was like my second favorite MMC in the Reckless series (no one can top my mans Brody) and seeing him in action made me so happy. He made me laugh every time he was there, and seeing his little speech to Austin at the end was a little call-forward (callback for me because I’d already read his book) to how he blamed himself for Violet’s death and the accident that took her life. SO GOOD.

Plus, extra points for Carter’s name—I loved it and added it to my baby name list.
