Brilliant book, once again, I've fallen in love with the mighty Jack West jr. The ending was great, just hope there are more in this series, and this character returns.

Think through reading this trilogy of books (so far) I am on the way of becoming a Matthew Reilly fan, the fact that he is a Australian author, just making that so much better

Nice conculsion to 6 Sacred Stones. Plenty of action sequences, but I did feel that the begining had too easy of a solution.

I appreciate the research that must go into this series of books. It's interesting and a scattering of actual history and facts keeps me somewhat engaged.

But the writing is atrocious and repetitive. It's geared toward ADHD male adventure readers who get excited about the word breasts.

I only listened to this audiobook under protest because I struggle to find anything my husband would enjoy listening to on road trips to save me from being subjected to ACDC and the Police albums on repeat.

Enjoyable overall, but rediculously unbelievable and unrealistic action sequences became a little tedious after a while. Also, as I Christian I did not appreciate the sub-plot of the body of Jesus Christ being discovered. Obviously Matthew Reilly and I don't share the same world-view. Jesus is alive Matty!

This follows on from the epic cliff hanger at the end of The Six Sacred Stones and finds Jack West Jr continuing his global quest to set up and trigger the Machine in order to save the world from the apocalypse. In the process he has to battle not only ancient families, evil dictators and time itself but also his estranged father who is fighting to obtain the powers and gifts of the pillars and use them to rule the world (he is not a nice man). The story is once again brilliantly fast paced and leaves you utterly exhausted by the end but there are moments to take a breather as Jack and his friends separate and re-group, catching up with each other as they do. And best of all, there is no cliff hanger at the end of this one!
