The princess in black and Blacky her pony fight dangerous monsters, and tangle with dangerous bunnies. This was charming and funny!

First Buddy Read with Mara! She loved it; I think we’ll be working our way through the series next.

Fun, adventurous, and playful. The pictures are colorful, charming, beautiful and on every page. Very luscious and cutesy. A quick read-aloud too.

The Princess in Black / Princess Magnolia is also a great for teaching our daughters that they do not have to be limited to one way - they can be both feminine and kind but also fearless and brave. My daughter currently wants to be Superman when she grows up (I think it's the flying), so a super-hero-esque heroine is perfect.

This was my favorite book in the series. It was hilarious and lots of fun. Probably great conversations for "what is beauty?" and all that, but really, we just enjoyed the laughs.

Highly recommended. Pick it up and have some fun!

Princess Magnolia is on her way to brunch with Princess Sneezewort when she is called away as her secret alter ego, the Princess in Black, to fight monsters and save the day. The monsters turn out to be cute bunnies. At first she thinks they are harmless but soon learns that is not the case. This is a really fun early chapter book series with a not so average princess.

We love these adventures and Eleanor really liked the part where the Princess didn’t know who the monsters were. That part was definitely surprising and funny.

Killer bunnies on the prowl! Haha. I'm just joking. They're not killer bunnies, but they do eat everything in sight which is quite alarming. Another solid installment in the series.

So I love Shannon Hale. No secret there. But now my boys do, too. This was a ton of fun to read aloud, and my sons were giggling throughout.
