Bunnies! Bunnies! It must be bunnies!

I read this out loud to my daughters, 5 and 7 years old. They laughed, they love the characters and the illustrations. This series is clever, fun and entertaining. Not only do they love reading the books, but then they jump in and also become princesses who fight monsters! The bunnies in this book were especially funny for my kids, lots of giggles!

How do you stop cute bunnies? Of course with a cute horse. My daughter loved that Blacky was the true hero in this story when poor Princess Mangolia is dumbstruck on how such cute animals could be monstrous. But when she's about to become dinner Blacky steps in and saved the day.

"IT MUST BE FOOD..!" Is now a catch cry in our home. Thanks, Hungry Bunny Horde. xD

Lovely version of the "don't judge a book by its cover" trope, particularly resonant in Australia where a hungry bunny horde really IS a problem.

This is the perfect series to transition young people out of "easy readers" and into chapter books. The bright illustrations, engaging plot line, large print, and easy vocabulary make this a perfect confidence building read. Plus the stories are a lot of fun! My daughter has read all of the Princess in Black books a number of times, and continues to enjoy re-reading them.

Things are not always as (cute and fluffy as) they seem.
