I liked this book a lot! The store itself was great. The only negative was that the character development wasn’t as good as I was hoping. I felt like Kaia and Remi just fell in love right way with no real substance.

Why oh why have I not read anything but A.K. Evans before? I fell down the rabbit hole that the author has created with Line of Fire and I really did not want to leave! I was literally blown away with the concept, the fluidity and characters. I fell in love with absolutely everything about this book and I needed more! I did not want it to end! Kaia has so much fire in her and I adore the fact that she knows she needs help. Enter Remi. OH is that man just everything. He is alpha but not over the top, protective but not overbearing and just everything Kaia needs in her life. These two have a magnetic push and pull from the start but when things get a bit more crazy, it wasn’t until hands were forced that they acted on the connection that they shared.
I have to say, I am in love with this book and I am so looking forward to more with the other brothers. The story just flowed off the pages and I could not put it down once I started. It is literally everything and more. Even when things get out of control, the fierceness of Kaia was utterly brilliant. Now excuse me while I go read the author's entire backlist!

Love it!

This book was a great read. If you like when the two main characters automatically fall in love then this book is for you. Remi is a sweetheart and I can't wait to read more about his family.

I was really disappointed with this one. I’ve read the Everything Series, Cunningham Security and Hearts & Horsepower so I had not hesitation starting this small series. Where the others had much more substance, this felt lazy. Everything was wildly predictable. The writing was repetitive. Too much rehashing of the same stuff. Obviously, there was a focus to the plot but development and their relationship just didn’t have any feeling. It was sweet but no fire. I’ll still give the others a try because I’m a fan of this author but, since I know what this author is capable of, I was left wanting more from Kaia and Remi.

Such a sweet story. Definitely intense and has some themes that could bring up problems for some people so I recommend checking out trigger warnings before reading to be safe.
But Trent is amazing. I loved everything about this book.

Book 1 in the Archer Tactical series. The characters are connected to characters in the previous Hearts and Horsepower series BUT you don’t need to read them to read these (but please do cos they’re good).

After breaking up with her abusive boyfriend and realising that he will not take no for an answer, Kaia signs up for self defence classes at Archer Tactical at the behest of her colleague.

Remi Archer, one of the owners of Archer Tactical, takes one look at Kaia and instantly wants to break his non fraternising rules. There’s something special about the confident beauty and he’s determined to make her his.

Kaia initially hides the reason for her lessons from Remi. But once he finds out, there’s no stopping him from protecting his woman.

I enjoyed this read. Remi was a swoon worthy hero. Protective, possessive, alpha and always willing to help people, especially women who need skills to protect themselves. I’m looking forward to his brother’s stories!

Kaia was also great. She had a cool job (nightclub dj) which was her passion. She had protective friends and her sister and brother-in-law who looked out for her (their story is in the previous series). I didn’t understand why she didn’t go to the cops tbh especially after the second attack. But she had her reasons.

Enjoyable read with engaging storyline and characters (both main and secondary).

Kaia and Remi

Kaia thinks she’s rid of her boyfriend and the first time he hits her, but unfortunately that’s not the case. She’s encouraged to contact Archer Tactical for self defense training where she meets Remi.

Remi is a protective, sexy, patient and incredible man who instantly recognizes Kaia is the woman for him when she alls through the doors of Archer Tactical. Not only is she beautiful, but she’s confident and checks all his boxes.

I loved how Remi is protective but not controlling and allows Kaia to make choices about next steps in dealing with the nasty ex. He is supportive and help to describe what he thinks is best, but he doesn’t take over her life!

I really enjoyed this book and am interested in seeing what happens with Remi’s brothers Deacon and Vaughn.

Whoa! Kaia and Remi's story was lit! I could not put it down! I love how all her stories pull in her Everything series and Cunningham series! This book is a must read! I can't wait for the next one!

This is the first in A.K. Evans' new series and what a way to start a book! It is simply awesome for lack of a better word! I will say there are some situations in this book that could be triggers for some, so be prepared. This book had me on such an emotional rollercoaster but a good one.

Kaia was protected from her abusive father by her older sister. She has made her home in Poppy Valley (I love the name, by the way) After being put into a position where she can't protect herself she decides she needs to learn and is referred to Archer Tactical. It is there that she meets Remi who is more than a little taken with the woman he is training.

As I said, I enjoyed this book and Remi and Kaia are both such great characters. They are well written and developed. This is a great start to this series and I am eager to see what comes.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This review was originally posted on Wickedly Romance

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it won’t be my last. I absolutely loved it. I couldn’t put it down. It had the right mix of romance and suspense. And the characters were wonderful.
