J. Lynn Bailey managed to hit close to home with Standing Sideways. Never have I been able to connect so completely to a book in my life. Having gone on a downward spiral myself do to the grief caused by losing a loved one I was able to relate to Livia in a way that I have not been able to connect to any other character ever.

This book takes you on Livia's journey of coping with the grief that accompanies the loss of her brother Jasper. It is a raw, gritty look into what it is like when you have no clue how to go on with your life without that person in it. Standing Sideways so an honest account of how painful and destructive decisions can become when your emotions are running around madly.

Bailey did not do what most authors do when showing what loss is like; she did not sugar coat how nasty this pain can be. She takes you on a journey full of truth, even if that truth is not always pretty to look at. You may shed a few tears during this read, but you will be immersed in a world that is all too real for some of us.

For me, Standing Sideways is a must read for 2018. It is emotional and beautiful. Once you start Livia's story you will not want to put it down.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was refreshing to see a beautiful woman of color as the main character. L.Penelope did a wonderful job with the character development in this book and made me want to find out more about them as I read. It was also refreshing to have a book set in the timeline of the 20's that isn't your typical flapper story. It was nice to see a different world set in my favorite time. The only issue I had was I like my love stories to be a little less perfect. I love to see the flaws in relationships and the struggles that a couple has to go through to get to where they are. I felt like in Song of Blood & Stone the romance was so absolutely perfect that it almost felt unbelievable to me. Other than that little misstep for me, this book was a joy to read. The premise, characters, and the world had me wanting more.

Best book I've read in a very long time

Words cannot express how wonderful this book is, but I will try to do it justice. This books touched so many emotions for me. I laughed, I cried, I screamed so loud in frustration my husband came running. I was swept up in a whirlwind and I never wanted to be released. My heart aches for Asher and I wanted so bad for him to feel the love he deserved. Katy Regnery filled these pages with so much beauty and heart that at times I was overtook with such strong feelings that I had to simply stop and stare off for a moment before I could continue. Also her donation to Operation Mend means so much to me. As my husband was injured during his deployment and I have dear friends that were as well. Not only is she an amazing story teller, but a wonderful person as well.

I need a smoke after this read!!!!

Holy Odin!!!! You're going to need a cold shower or a hot man after reading this amazing book. I didn't realize how hot a book could be before I read Mechanic. Alexa Riley does these characters justice with her exquisite writing. I wanted to find Paine and have him treat me that way. Perfect read if you need something a little spicy in your life and by a little I mean a whole hell of a lot.

Alexa Riley does it Again

While this wasn't my favorite by Alexa it's still so freaking hot I can't handle myself. Nothing but pure smutty smut from the very start. While Mechanic is by far my favorite from this series Coach is still a really good quick read.

Decent book

The only reason I gave this book 4 stars is because the beginning is not that great. I had to push myself to get through it and I'm glad I did. There are some really funny parts and I love the banter between Lainey and Mercer. The second half of the story is wonderful. The plot and everything just falls so perfectly into place. I just wish the beginning had been better.

Daphne Loveling does it once again. The Lords of Carnage series has been one of my favorite MC series yet. I love that I can read them however I please and as standalone. My love affair started with Thorn and only grew as I read Gunner. The men in these books are strong and full of love and the women aren't your typical damsel in distress; they are fiery and can match their men without blinking an eye. I can't wait to continue this series.

Loved it

I've never read a Sci-fi Alien romance before, but I'm so glad I started with this one. Tarekh is so sweet and protective of Cat that it will give you all the feels. I also love how Cat sticks up for Tarekh. She doesn't let anyone including him out him down. This was such a great mix of sweet and sexy!!! I will be reading more from Ruby Dixon.

I was thrilled when I was approved for this because I have been a long time love of graphic novels and comics. Loving all things Marvel and DC I quickly sent in a request for this title when I saw it on NetGalley. Unfortunately, I wasn't so thrilled reading it. The main story did not really flow well and seemed like it wasn't thought out thoroughly before they put it into action. I realize that I had very large expectations going into this and I shouldn't hold it up to other Wonder Woman things that have come out in the past year, but it was kind of hard not to. The illustration was pretty decent in this graphic novel and I was completely let down by it. I really wanted to give it more than 3 stars and wish I could have.
