Is the smut story relevant?: Not really, some is

I enjoyed elements of this book (I liked Cooper and the coming out about liking other alphas) and found the characters inside of it interesting, but overall, I was slightly let down. This book really did just feel like a side project that had too much going on for its shorter page time and frequent smut.

I think the frequent time skips, the lack of these smaller scenes, and the sudden amount of smut put me off. We never had a chance to just get to know our main couple and the people around them, and I found Alex a bit aggravating in the beginning with the possessiveness over Dylan, even though a major part of this story (and him) is that he was with someone.

I get that omegaverse has a lot of smut, but this time, I was just not interested one bit.

I found this book honestly quite boring and not scary. The unearned pedo stuff did not help.
