I felt that The Mirror was much slower paced than the first book, Inheritance. There was a lot of detail of all the things that kept Sonya and Cleo busy but not much emotion or Nora’s usual wonderful banter. The author is a real dog person, and you can tell by how much the dogs in the story are cared for and part of their family. The big party was kind of a let down. It seemed like it was rushed and Sonya’s mother and Cleo’s family were gone in no time. There were a couple of anecdotes between the friends that I found clever and humorous, but I was looking for more.
From Here to the Great Unknown by Lisa Marie Presley, Riley Keough

I think Riley Keough conveyed the love, sadness, addiction, and tragedy of her nuclear family very well. The small portions of Lisa Marie’s recordings and Julia Roberts’ narration of Lisa Marie’s POV, less so. This may have been Lisa Marie’s memoir but her daughter delivered the intertwined sorrowful family legacy very effectively. Riley concluded the memoir after her mother’s death, but I feel a great deal wasn’t explained, such as the family’s time in London and Hawaii. I find it interesting that there wasn’t much reference made to Priscilla beyond Lisa Marie’s birth and first few years. The audiobook was very brief at less than 6 hours.

I adored the hero but felt the heroine wasn’t confident as she was vain. In the beginning anyway. This being a novella, things progress quickly and she did end up likable to me.

Practically read it in one sitting. At least I finished it on its release day. This is the last of the Stage Dive books and although the humor in it was GREAT I was still sad to see it end. LOVED this series!
