The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker
5.0
This story is slow-moving, but that is the point. If you’re looking for a book with twists and turns, then this book isn’t for you. This is a story of a girl trying to make her way in this strange new world. It is showing the value and celebration of life while simultaneously crushing it. This story is haunting in a different sense, by playing on your fears but assuring that facing death is something everyone will have to face, no matter how it happens.
So yes, I loved this story and I highly recommend it, but I also recognize it is not going to be for everyone.

Miracle Creek by Angie Kim

Miracle Creek was well researched, believable, and complex. I wasn’t surprised by the ending but I didn’t necessarily guess it. Honestly, it was a good book, but I don’t have much to discuss on it. I wasn’t deeply touched by the words but the characters felt like real people. She really delved into each one. Overall, though, the story wasn’t life changing.

If you’re someone who likes plot-driven reads, then this story isn’t for you. This book is not suspenseful. However, it’s themes snatched a part of me and refused to let go. Each page has a sharp insight that just grabs your attention and pounds around in your head. The main theme of this story is that it means more than just to survive. There are choices one must make that define character and how one belongs in the world.

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

This story starts out so sloooooooow. I almost dnfed it so many times because of this. When you finally get to the action though, it makes it worth it. I didn't expect any of the twists that came. The last few chapters we're written so well. So if you're wondering if you should stick out, my vote is yes. Because I'm glad I did
All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda

Have you ever read a story backwards? Oh, no, you haven’t? Why is that? Ohhh, that is right. Because it doesn’t work. Really, it is an interesting concept but the flow of this story is all wrong. It created a choppy, impersonal, confusing mess. Definitely do not recommend writing a story this way, let alone reading one.

Very entertaining. The ending was predictable but I still enjoyed it
