This was a lot of fun. Some romance, some banter, a villain or two, as well as several solid friendships among genders.

The audiobook was not a winner. Wooden delivery from an apathetic narrator.

Even readers who read only the first three chapters and the last two chapters will be unsurprised by the “reveal” at the end.
I spent most of the book PISSED at every medical practitioner, parent, therapist, teacher, or family member who spent any time with Cassandra and didn’t draw the glaringly obvious conclusion.

The book felt overlong to me, though the protagonist clearly needed LOTS of time to process her abilities and her situation. The audio narration was very well done.

A terrifying, darkly funny, impeccably written, bitterly real exploration of misogynistic superhero tropes. Amazing storytelling. I am afraid of refrigerators now, but it was totally worth it.

Worth the wait!
This author’s books are such a delightful mix of the wildly absurd, the gently revelatory, and the (im)perfectly human.

This reminded me of Lord Peter Wimsey and Sherlock Holmes (but more gay…) as well as Becky Chambers’ version of the settlement of outer space. The protagonist’s examination of her beliefs about her personal relationships and her life’s work are nicely parallel.

Delightful narration. Djinns, humans, angels, and other beings had distinct (and very entertaining!) voices. I hope there will be more stories set in this world.

A fun visit to the world of A Master of Djinn

The audio narration was enjoyable but had a number of odd mispronunciations an editor should have caught. (InterMINEable for interminable, SUB-la-tee for subtlety, etc.)
