Sue Watson has a knack of pulling the reader into the story with the very first pages. She has done it again with her new book Wife, Mother, Liar. I found it so addictive I had to keep reading until I'd devoured it.
This complex family drama is told from the POVs of best friends Jill and Wendy. These two women became friends when Jill and her husband moved in next door. The two women seemed inseparable, and did everything together, they even had babies around the same time. But when their children go to the prom together and only one returns, we see the cracks appear in their friendship and learn the lengths a mother will go to in order to protect their child.
I loved the alternating POVs in the telling of this story. Both Jill and Wendy are flawed characters and both women are fiercely protective of their children. The whole story was full of suspense as little nuggets of clues are drip fed through the narrative. I definitely found myself on the edge of my seat as each twist and turn was revealed.
Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for providing me with a copy to read and review.

Water Moon is a beautifully written book that is both captivating and whimsical. It had me gripped from the beginning and that doesn't happen often for me with fantasy books. I feel this was because although I was reading about fantastical happenings, they somehow felt completely believable and the pace felt fast.
The world building in this book is astoundingly magical. It's a truly skillful author to be able to create a rich and vivid landscape and magical system in just over 300 pages! I loved the characters too and quickly became emotionally invested in them.
I also found this to be a thought provoking read, leaving me reflecting on my own choices, regrets and dreams. I just loved everything about it book.
My thanks to Random House UK, Transworld Publishers and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC for review purposes.

The title of this book caught my attention and after reading the blurb I was intrigued. Thank you to Faber and Faber for granting my request for an ARC via Netgalley.
Criminal defence lawyer, Björn needs to find some work-life balance. He's on the verge of losing his wife and daughter due to his demanding workload. So reluctantly he begins mindfulness classes. Surprisingly the lessons and exercises he learns help Björn to find some serenity but when that inner peace is threatened by his demanding client, he kills him... mindfully!
I really enjoyed the dark humour in this book. The mindfulness lessons at the start of each chapter were actually quite thought provoking and I thought they cleverly linked in with the subsequent chapter.
Overall I enjoyed this read, I found Björn to be a character I could root for and hopefully he will have more mindfull adventures in the future.
