Overall I highly recommend this series and think it was a solid conclusion. I do think there were some pacing issues with some parts rushed and some parts very meandering but overall really enjoyed it.

I loved this installment. So much happened and we learn a lot more about the world. I also am glad that something that happened earlier in the book was resolved at the end and didn’t leave us hanging like I feared it might have.

For a book about magical books, I found this so unique while still grounded in some sense of stories that I’ve heard before.

Lore of the Wilds by Analeigh Sbrana

Did not finish book. Stopped at 65%.
The plot mostly centers around an eventual love triangle in which all the romances are super flimsy and one note (the second love interest isn’t even introduced until 70% in). The world is cool and what kept me reading but I can tell I’d just be pushing myself to finish and I don’t care about the next installment.

This was just fine. It felt like some of the elements could have been fleshed out a bit more and made amazing. I enjoyed the different perspectives we got as well as the setting but I don’t think this book will stand out in my memory over time.

I preferred this authors other series to this and don’t think it will stick in my mind long enough to continue when the next installment comes out.

After a lull in the series, I’m so glad the last few installments have been good again!
