I've always been a big fan of the Hunger Games since I picked up the first book. Mockingjay proves just how great of a writer Suzanne Collins is.

I could feel every single part of Katniss through this book. Her madness, adrenaline, despair, grief and determination. I was legit crying at all the deaths that happened even the so called small, unimportant ones and how each one affected her.
The writing really makes you feel what it would be like to be Katniss.

I loved the ending...it's not happy ever after but rather, a hopeful bittersweet one. Just the way it should be.

This book would very nearly be 5 stars if it wasn't for the "A bit too long" and dense descriptions sometimes.

It's not easy writing historical fiction that takes place centuries ago and still create realistic, raw characters that you can still sympathise with.
I loved Orsola so much. She's such a real character that goes through so much loss and grief but still stands strong despite all the changes around her.

The author was quite clever with the concept of time running differently in Venice. I liked seeing people lives change throughout the different eras...its like time travel but in a less obvious way.

I admit, I was slightly sceptical of starting this book but it really surprised me!

The time travel and teleportation aspect of this book is very well done and I was really kept on my toes with each shocking reveal of the plot. I really liked the villain to be honest, she was just pure evil, no remorse, no second thoughts. And to think all of that came from ** is kind of sad.

Some of the characters felt a little bit flat, like there wasn't a lot of depth to them at least for me, but the character arc of the FMC was amazing and I loved it!
Def worth a solid 4 stars.

Fast paced, thrilling and mysterious. Exactly what I needed to get out of a reading slump.
This book definitely covers quite accurately, the effects of psychological trauma and basically keeps to the point of how our past shapes our present.
Slightly predictable ending as I could already tell that something was off with ** as I was nearing the end. Nevertheless, still an awesome read!
