It was kind of disappointing as a send off for this era of X-Men, which as far as runs go this was definitely a roller coaster of highs and lows and just inconsistent storytelling across the board, not just this title. I love me some crossovers here and there but I can't say I enjoyed very many here. Angel and Wolverine's relationship is fitting, but I wish Bobby's sexuality was better explored than just one page of "Bobby, you're gay", alas, they tackle it somewhat okay in the arc-finale of Uncanny X-Men 600, but it's still sadly rather lackluster

The pace and the art were definitely a struggle, but the character work on Magneto is particularly great. The tortured past of the character is key in understanding any stories in which he is the main figure, and I think the writers definitely know him well.

The X-Men are not only out of their time but out of their dimension, that's kind of fun, particularly because bratty Cyclops isn't there, and old Cyclops is also not there.
