“The great thing about this life of ours is that you can be someone different to everybody.”

This book was something that a number of my friends recommended to me. They told me it would be sad and it really is a sad book. For the most part of the book I was praying the something I predicted would happen won't and I really could not accept it when it happened. A number of things in this book was really subtle and it had a lot of the characteristics that I look for in a contemporary book (subtly, wonderful and heart wrenching quotes, character depth, etc.).

A good book to read when you are feeling alone.

“My fear for you outweighs my fear of him,” he said simply. “And I told you, didn’t I? If you left, I’d follow you.”

But should you try to leave on your own, know that I will go to the ends of the earth to bring you back.”

The fact that the music writing in the first few chapters was perfect and has all the right research as well as the quote worthy parts in this book was solid 4+ stars for me. I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!

And can i just say that i am in love with Carter and Etta's relationship? I really don't know why but i just am.

The only actual problem for me in this book was that the plot needed. . . something to it. I can't pinpoint it but it was just missing something. And although this is more because of my taste, but i found too slow paced for my usual taste. THOUGH, it was very very okay because the scenes were written in such a way that it didn't feel as if the author was prolonging it. It was just really that long.

I am keeping this short because I need the next book NOW.

This was a nice addition to the story but I think it can only be fully appreciated by those who have read the main books.

“somehow,
my soul
knew
your soul
before we
ever
met.

- it was like coming home after a long, long day.”

I love this from a lot of other poem books because it shows how you don't always need a soulmate to be your own true person. Sometimes you can be your own soulmate. And be patient...

"Fear is a powerful ally, but feed it too often, make it too strong, and it will turn on you.”

The Darkling is another character that I just can't seem to hate in the YA reading world. How do you hate someone who just wants to feel loved? Can you blame someone for being lonely? It's not like he had any control over what kind of Grisha he would be.

GAHHH I JUST REALLY FEEL SO BAD FOR THE DARKLING!!! This really helps you understand the story and the "villian" better.

This is a good read for grisha fans and readers who are just planning to start this series.
