“if i have learned anything this year, its that I won’t ever be ready for what life throws at me."
the poems are pretty much bittersweet with a touch of nostalgia. and if not that, something that you can relate to on a level so deep the mariana trench got jealous.
officially my favortie lang leav poem book even though most of the poems are still about love as per usual. thank you and goodbye.

THAT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL.
“what happened next wasn’t exactly extraordinary in any way. He simply took my hand in his and we watched the sun melt into the ocean.”
I am going to start with this book being one of the very rare books to catch my attention with the very first sentence.
The writing style of this book was so unique and beautiful without it being too flowery. I loved how each of the chapters were written and I remember thinking of how there could be a book like this in the world. It is exactly my type and my style. and plus, WOLVESSS!! You put wolves in a story and it will always get my attention right away. There is just something so beautiful about wolves that makes them so fun and mesmerising to read about. I find wolves such beautiful animals and I loved being able to read a book that was centered around them in a way.
The relationships of each character and how they were written was my other favorite part of this book. They just seemed so raw and wonderful that it made me love each of them to the bottom of my heart. They were very much explored but not to the point that readers would get bored of it too quickly. The main character was practical and didn’t get me annoyed to the point that I wanted to pull my hair out like a lot of fantasy protagonists with how stupid and impractical they could be at times. Even though I had no idea what was going on sometimes because the world building was a bit off, I still fell in love with the characters despite not being able to fully know who each one of them was yet. I LOVE WENDLYN SOMEONE CAN FIGHT ME ON THIS. And they are so sweet, I cannot.
“You don’t really know whether you’ll make a good parent until you are one.”
Old style references was also something that very much added to the subtle charm of the book, even though this was just pretty obvious in the first part of the story.
When I was reading this book I was literally happy and excited one second and then feeling like my heart was crushed the next moment. I loved everything that the book focuses on. The plot was seriously wonderful and I can say that this is a book that was definitely for me. It was hitting me in all the right spots. With all the supernatural stuff going on everything was still surprisingly relatable for normal people, especially teenagers.
This was a funjurney to be on even though the right was to describe this is a bit moody. Though, there were still light and fun parts to balance everything out.
This book has me amazed.
“i guess i knew less about the universe that i thought i did”
I forgot just how fast books can transport you to a whole different world in a way that nothing else can. And I really felt it in this book. This was such a wonderful fantasy and romantic read that readers should get when they are in the mood for books that will show you the other side of the mundane world and just how extraordinary a normal life could be if you just choose to believe it.
Every thing unfolded so beautifully in the end and I just really have no other adjective to describe it. Beautiful.

*I am actually planning to re-read this series in the future with the paperbacks*
This is fantasy. "Not everything is perfect" in a world full of magic. Not cliche. This series has left me wanting more!!
The character development was seen throughout the whole series, I think my favorite character development must be Rhy. You really see him grow p and change throughout the whole series and I can't help but love him. From a mischievous boy he turned out to be a loving king to his people and to his brother.
Although maybe I wanted more action in certain parts. It seemed the author was avoiding some scenes and there were times when the world felt contained and didn't expand enough.
BUT I LOVE LILA AND KELL SO MUCH. They are not the ordinary cliche couples with all that lovey dovey going on. There wasn't too much romance put into this and I think it was perfect that way. To me, the Antari black eye symbolized so much more than magic but also shows how the author is open to not sticking to the cliche styles of how our heroines and heroes are suppose to look like. I respect the authors who are not scared to do this.
but will all things said...I loved this series. It's different and unlike anything I have ever read. This series is one to go on your shelf and something to add to your collection.
As they say in Arnesian,
Anoshe.

"what if we don't like what's in our hearts?"
The world was really intriguing and it really seems to get the readers curiosity going. I can say that the book had a very modern feel. It was amusing in the way that it is relatable to the present modern era.
As much as I enjoyed the book, the world building was slightly all over the place at first which ended making me confused on what was going on at first and I really did not know where anything was headed. I had a hard time getting int the book at first but it kept me curious enough to stay.
I did ended up with a much better read that what was expected though I could say that the book could have connected to me more if the writing style and the representation of the world in general was different and more developed. Some topics were off for me personally and was just not something that I liked reading. The characters seemed too one dimensional at first but I ended u loving them anyway. they appealed to me much more as the book progressed and I have to say that the progression of the story and the development of everything in general was somewhat the strong point and what kept me going in the book. It had a heart warming ending to go with everything as well.
This an amusing science fiction novel that I am sure young adult readers will at least enjoy and appreciate if not love. It was an adventure reading this.
and btw . . . the boys are to die for AAHHHH hehe

From "Another story of Lightwoods, Herondales and Fairchild" ---> "You said it was a story of Lightwoods and Fairchilds and Morgensterns."
I really enjoyed this, except for 'those' parts. Oh well. . .
for fans of Jem and Tessa (who isn't, I love both ships tho)
