I loved this comic all the way through, and season 3 was an excellent conclusion. The series is largely about family abuse and generational trauma and escaping that cycle. Mundt handled these topics excellently; while of course they are difficult to read about, I found myself comforted as the characters came to terms with their situation and managed to escape the cycle and find love and strong, healthy relationships along the way. There were also plenty of cute and funny moments within the comic (in all 3 seasons) that balanced out the heavier topics/scenes. Overall, one of my favorite webcomics I've ever read. Possibly my #1 favorite. I 100% recommend, though of course approach with caution as many of the topics can be triggering!

I absolutely adored season 1 of this webcomic. I quickly fell in love with the characters. The comic is quite heavy and deals with a lot of issues related to emotional and mental abuse at the hands of family and generational trauma. But I think Mundt handles these issues quite eloquently and I found it to be a difficult yet comforting read. One of my favorite webcomics to date.

My feelings about this book were much the same as the first (a good read for plot, but not for characters. Plot and political stuff was much more interesting than the Jude and Cardan's relationship, unless the relationship directly impacted the politics). I still have no investment in either of the characters and do not really understand or care for their relationship (I thought by this point we would begin to see them like each other a bit, but I can hardly tell if they like each other at all. Perhaps this is the point and its just not for me, but I truthfully don't understand the appeal of their relationship, when it seems they just hate each other and have no chemistry). Still, again it was definitely an entertaining read with a good plot and I will be picking up book #3! So I can't complain too much.

I have slightly mixed feelings about this book. While I definitely enjoyed the plot and found it fast-paced and interesting (especially past the halfway point), I didn't really care for the characters. I had no real attachment to either Jude or Cardan, and I didn't quite get their relationship. I expected to see more of them together (even if not romantically) but they seemed their relationship scenes ultimately were the least interesting part of the book. I was much more interested in the politically drama and Jude's political moods. Overall a fun and fast-paced read though.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 27%.
Finally gave up at "bumps butt," page 119. Maybe I am officially too old for YA, but this book overused cringey outdated pop culture references that made it feel like the authors were trying too hard to connect with current teens, and equally cringey dialogue (see: "bumps butt." Who actually talks like that? Anyone?). By the point I reached, the plot quite literally did not move beyond where we were in chapter 1. I wish I had quit sooner. I do not recommend.

A fun, quick comic to read if you're a fan of the video game Genshin Impact. If you're a fan of the game, the comic is a prequel that gives you a bit of background/additional information about some of the characters we meet in early game (and possibly some upcoming characters). If you're not into the game, the comic is not much to write home about it.

It is challenging to rate a book like this, because I loved some stories, didn't like others, and felt meh about others. So 3 stars. Okay, but certainly not a must-read.
