This is exactly what it was meant to be: a cute, low stakes, spicy, halloween romance.

The tropes are repetitive and the plot isn’t deep, but it still somehow managed to hit the spot.  It’s less than 250 pages so I wasn’t expecting an in depth fantasy novel.  The plot moved quickly, and the whole thing was very geared towards Halloween which was cute.  My only hang up was that it was a bit too cute? I like my couples to have some banter, some tension.  And while there was tension it didn’t last long, probably due to the length of the novel.  The characters were cute, nothing in depth.  I’ll probably read the second one. If you’re looking for a quick, spicy, October read that doesn’t require a lot of brain power to follow then this is for you 🖤 🐈‍⬛ 🎃 🧙🏼‍♀️
