I'm basically hyperventilating after that ending!

I have a lot of issues with this one. It was entertaining I guess but after over 400 pages, I still don't feel like much happened and I was just going through the motions to get to the 'shocking ending'. My guesses of Pearaon's own deception regarding the who's who, ended up being correct so the big reveal wasn't a huge surprise. My favourite part is probably the end and *his* determination to not leave her (as vague as I can be haha). I will probably keep on with the series but I PRAY the world is better explained, the writing is less all over the place, and for there to be no more love triangles for the love of god haha

I can't keep going with this book. It's so messy and just full of... words. I unfortunately could not push through it and have decided not to waste my time on books I'm not enjoying. I have too big of a TBR for that lol. I had high hopes and wanted to love it but I can't get through the writing.

I really didn't know what to expect from this one but I was pleasantly surprised. I bought this book when it was released and it has sat on my shelf for a couple of years. I am glad I finally read it because it was SUCH and interesting and unique story. I honestly don't think I've read anything like it before. It did take me a while to really get into and there were quite a few repetitive details that I started to think "ok, I get it." each time they were mentioned but the journey was overall a fun one. This is a dark story that comments on human and animals rights but in a very interesting way. I don't want to say too much about it because the turns the story took were so refreshingly new that I don't want to spoil anything. I really did enjoy this one and will definitely read the rest of the series.

The thing that I originally liked about this book became stale very quickly. It could have definitely been helped with being cut down by about 300 pages. It was clearly well detailed and thought out but perhaps a little TOO much. The ending was lack-luster for me and too many sub plot points that really didn't have to be there and did not do anything for the story. If anything, it took away from the actual plot given in the synopsis that I would have loved to have seen more of. The mixed media aspect was very interesting however. This one just wasn't for me.
