Did not finish book. Stopped at 92%.
I don’t remember why I stopped 😂 but I don’t remember anything about this book and was probably bored or busy

What a fun book! The movie truly did a great job adapting it and I love the story. The only drawback is Buttercup, the only female character, is painted to be stupid and useless the whole time. But as far as the plot goes I was hooked even though I knew what would happen.

Genius book! If you like things like the Phantom Tollbooth you’ll like this. Very fun, self aware, intelligent book. It just moved a bit slowly in the middle.

Honestly so boring I skimmed most of it. Not invested, not my speed and the FMC is so unlikable. I like the TV series better but I will finish the series for the sake of it/time killer

I loved this memoir even though it was heartbreaking. It was a good reminder that things are not always as perfect as they seem to the outside world, and the psychological damage that can happen within cults. This author is still clearly working through therapy and this story isn’t polished or “done.” It’s real. Great writing and I appreciate her honesty.

Overall, not my favorite in terms of plot or characters. The beginning was promising but after that it was a lot of nothing. Predictable, preachy about a lot of topics just to seem profound, and the characters are entirely unrealistic, unlikable and flat. The only part I loved was all tje video game ideas. I am considering becoming an animation artist and this game gave me a lot of inspiration for graphics and the possibilities out there for story plots. The video games were where the authors real creativity came out.

Eh. Didn’t really love this; it was like the author couldn’t decide if she was writing a romance plot or a political plot. I couldn’t tell which one was supposed to be the focus so both suffered. There just wasn’t much direction and it dragged a lot. I loved Nestas development though and the way she found a new family.

Good book! This felt exactly like the book version of a Hallmark movie. There wasn’t too much of a plot, just seeing the mundane moments in the characters lives. Almost like a Christmas special. I loved it and the warmth, and I’m excited to transition into the next official book!
