I loved this. Might give it 5 stars. This was SO CUTE!! DnD? Theatre? Fluffy teen romance? Fake dating trope? COUNT ME IN. I’m grinning ear to ear like an idiot and I want to read it again.

I loved this one! The European travel wasn’t too realistic and I feel like the climax went too fast with a fast end, but overall great. Can’t wait to revisit the next one

This was every bit as magical as the first time I read it years ago. And I still cried at the end. Sure, some lines are a bit childish in writing, but it’s a children’s book. Forever enamored by this series

Entertaining but no real substance. The feminist messaging couldn’t be more in your face and the concept of what feminism even is was all wrong. And Len was unlikeable as a love interest…he had no personality or interesting traits
Man I gotta stop consuming these kinds of books but they’re just so much more digestible lately

My little musical theatre heart needed this! I loved the theatre references. I also like how this wasn’t just a romance, and I loved the plot outside of it too. The characters were sweet and lovable. The book dragged in places and was a little too convenient in others, but still a really fun story that was right up my alley.

Wow wow wow. I read this in 2 hours and fittingly, am in Canada where the book is set.
In a silly, lighthearted way, I loved this. This was the first book I’ve read in a looooooong time that made me feel genuine butterflies and giggle like an idiot. Was it completely realistic or practical (such as the single mom affording private school for her kids while just owning a bakery, or 2 kids being forced to stay at school for hours after class to do manual labor)? No, of course not. But was it an adorable slow burn that made me feel things and didn’t have idiotic MCs? YES. I wish Julius was more developed with his background, and we got more scenes after they were together, but overall loved this book.

Didn’t love this one. Rushed ending and annoying characters. Jacks didn’t have a personality outside of “love interest.” There are several plot holes (such as the last scar, which I’ve been curious about since book 1). Just not engaging and the pacing was weird again

Ugh I don’t know whether to rate this 3.75 or 4. I didn’t like it enough to be 4. It was better than the last book but the romance is weird to me and the main characters are annoying and irrational. For example there’s the “curse” on saying what’s in the arch…just at least ask for hints? Good or bad? lol just generally dumb and indecisive MCs.
But the plot was decent and the pacing was improved, will finish the series for the heck of it

UGH. this book series has captured my heart and was a childhood favorite. I decided to pick it up again and I don’t regret it; Colfer’s creativity surpasses almost every author I’ve read and these books are part of the reason part of me still believes in magic and happy endings. ❤️ So imaginative. Of course the writing is simplistic at times, but it makes sense because it’s for middle grades
